Venus and Springtime Romance

Monday March 12, 2007

You've probably heard some version of the oft-quoted line, "In the Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love." It's from a Tennyson poem and describes the timeless season of open flirtation -- the springtime mating ritual that traditionally begins with lots of ogling and overtures from the fellas.

With Venus in Aries, the sign of the Warrior, the springtime spirit of initiation is already here. For both sexes, it's a time of pursuit, and that can mean wooing an object of affection, or cultivating an inspiring new friendship. Aries is a catalyst for new beginnings, and this brings a breath of fresh air into relationships of every stripe. Established couples may rediscover some fun activity that brings them closer together and renews their bond.

This burst of Springtime fire will be amplified with the Sun moves into Aries on March 21st. It's the astrological New Year and as a starting point, does seem to have a momentum all its own. Everyone seems a little more extroverted, as we're all lured outdoors to walk in the park, or gather for festivals, parades and concerts. All this activity seems to celebrate the return of longer days, nature's re-emergence and the hopeful possibility of love.
