The Soul Journey

Friday November 9, 2007

The new Moon in Scorpio (Exact at 6:03 p.m. EST) lures us into the mysterious realms of our own soul. Scorpio is a miner of inner depths, giving it an affinity with the shamans through the ages. Like many shamanic initiations, psychic upheaval can bring on a kind of temporary insanity before you emerge again transformed. In her New Moon article, React to the Whack, Michele Bailey-Lessirard describes her own profound journey to healing, one that her loved ones saw as crazy. Perhaps you've been through such a time, when you're not quite "yourself." Out of fear, some move away, but there's usually a wise one (or two) that step forward to guide you through the dark. It's important to reach out to healers, friends and family that know the way, not those that will take advantage of your confusion.

The Scorpio new Moon puts us in the rich dark before the dawn, and the Sun-Moon conjunction is trined by energizing Mars in Cancer and lightning-rod Uranus in Pisces. It's a grand trine in water, kind of like a cosmic hands-on healing of the heart chakra. All kinds of emotional miracles -- like forgiveness -- are possible now, and through the catharsis, they have the power to transform. So many of our great soul changes happen privately, deep within ourselves. The rejected or repressed parts of the spirit have crazy wisdom to share, when you receive it without judgement. Rest, reflect and receive -- and may your new Moon be a soulful one.
