James Earl Jones is famous for his bosso profundo voice, with the lowest of male timbres that seems to come from deep within the earth. He's a Mercury in Capricorn that epitomizes the power of words spoken with authority. This holiday season, he's been reading The Night Before Christmas to kids to promote literacy, a cause he's long championed.
His booming instrument has been called the Voice of Triumph, since he stuttered or was silent as a child growing up in Mississippi. His Mercury in Capricorn (along with the Sun, Moon and Saturn) opposes Pluto and Jupiter in Cancer. His love of poetry led him to dramatic language, and to becoming an actor. The discipline of stage acting helped Jones overcame great fears to claim the full expression of his powerful voice.
Mercury has gone into this cardinal earth sign, and our inspirations find roots in the real and tangible. Mercury joins Jupiter, making it a great time to work out the steps toward a goal. Being able to see something as realistic can boost your confidence. With Jupiter at hand, lucky breaks come that put you on solid ground, and your dreams start to feel real. Suddenly you feel 'driven' to succeed, but grounded, too, with a confidence coming from a sense of stability deep within.
