Molly's Astrology BlogVenus in Pisces
This morning, I was enchanted by a video of Caroline W. Casey talking about how she got into astrology. In the video (thank you Linea for the link), Casey recalls being asked, "How can you anchor yourself to astrology?" She replies, "It's not my anchor -- it's my boat." Casey reminds me of why I'm drawn to astrology -- as a symbolic language that can be used artfully, and take you anywhere. On her Coyote Network News website, Casey calls herself a Visionary Activist and speaks of this being "a time of dire beauty....where everything we do matters, and it’s no time to be alone." Casey's inspiring work tunes into the message of Uranus in Pisces: "strategic personal and social advantage goes to those cultivating intimacy with the power of symbol, dreams, imagination, metaphor, and unifying story." With Venus sashaying into Pisces, we give into shapeshifting socially, and life becomes the raw material for art. The mood set reminds me of a theatre party, where stories are told so animatedly, they become like an interpretive dance. Venus in this multi-dimensional sign sees the Big Picture, and thrives when the experience of life is shared through art, music, movies, photography, theatre and all symbolic mediums. Dressing its expression in illusion, Venus in Pisces follows the path of the artist, expressing truths that hit at a soul level, beyond words. That makes the imagination the bridge to love and friendship, especially smiling on creative collaborations now. Fear of Art and its power often comes from a fear of change. If I surrender to the creative process, who will I become? Uranus puts those with Pisces planets at this edge as artful provocateurs. With Saturn in opposition in Virgo, the discriminating eye is there to keep the dreamer grounded, in what Casey calls, pragmatic mysticism. Let Saturn play the role of wise teacher, not mean inner critic, and you'll be better able to venture out into those Piscean waters.
