The newest feature on the site is the chart for today's planets. It's the Sun's last day in Cancer and the Moon is in Pisces. Add Mercury in Cancer to the mix, and you've got four planets in water, a favorable cosmic set-up for creative wool gathering, pottering, daydreaming, doodling, mellow togetherness. We're heading into the dog days of summer in the sub-tropical climate where I live, and today's astro-weather will surely add density to the hazy, slow-mo scene.

But the chart also shows tensions (the red lines) of oppositions of all this water to planets in earth signs. This keeps you from becoming too comfortably numb, with a prodding to take care of things, be responsible, use your time wisely, etc. The Moon in dreamy Pisces is in opposition to Mars-Saturn in Virgo, creating a tug-of-war between sticking with a carefully thought out plan, and wanting to go with the flow. A nice compromise could be creating a to-do list that includes some open, unscheduled free time for the artist within. Jupiter in Capricorn is still in opposition to Mercury in Cancer, provoking another earth vs. water balancing act. When deciding how best to achieve your goals, this is a blending of rationally looking at the facts, with your need to belong, be understood, feel linked to the heart with others. Real gains can be made when wisely tuning into the emotional undercurrents of what's being communicated, and weighing that with the tangible outer goings-on.
