Total Solar Eclipse

Monday July 28, 2008

This is a winding down kind of week, ending with a visit from the Eye of God, also known as a total solar eclipse. A vortex of Leo energies makes this a new Moon (exact on Friday, August 1st at 6:13 am EDT) to create, love, play and be happy for no reason. Get ready to enter the world of make-believe, where you create your reality, and it's as colorful, dramatic, passionate and fun as you want it to be.

If there's a real-life Matrix, and it makes you feel gray, powerless and anonymous, this eclipse and new Moon blocks that out, as an encounter with your original inner light. It's the chance to stand in personal power, Leo's speciality, and re-weave your own life from what's unique about you. This lunation brings you back to your heart, and what makes you feel alive. There's some kind of enlightenment and global waking up going on, but a mixed bag of disorienting prospects for the future -- as Alice Walker writes, "It is the worst of times. It is the best of times." This new Moon draws you deep into your own creative well, so that what lights you up personally, is also what creates more light for the whole.
