The Way of the Explorer

Tuesday July 29, 2008

Yes, there is life beyond Earth, says Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell quite matter-of-factly. Saying we're on the verge of a real disclosure, he's been candidly talking about aliens, UFO sightings, public belief and a decades-long cover-up. As a moonwalker, he lends credibility to what's starting to look like a season of revelations about unexplained phenomenon. It follows a trend of truth telling with Pluto in Sagittarius, now in a dramatic retrograde period. There's the possibility that whole areas of knowledge, kept in the shadows, could emerge and revitalize our vision of the universe. And don't panic, says Mitchell, because if they were hostile, they would've done us in a long time ago. The Vatican released a positive statement extending cosmic brotherhood in May, and countries like Belgium, Brazil and the UK have opened their UFO files. The many former military officers stepping forward suggests that it's not life-threatening to go public now. In an interview with Kerrang Radio on July 23rd, Mitchell said, "I don't think they're knocking anybody off for that anymore."

Edgar Mitchell is one of many astronauts that have had spiritual epiphanies while out in space. When returning to Earth in 1971, he felt an "ecstasy of unity," with the cosmos. "My understanding of the distinct separateness and relative independence of movement of those cosmic bodies was shattered. I was overwhelmed with the sensation of physically and mentally extending out into the cosmos. The restraints and boundaries of flesh and bone fell away."

Notable in his birth chart is the North Node in Aries the pioneer, in the 9th House of the Explorer-Teacher. After he came back from the Moon, he founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences, where he's applied his science background to the study of the mysteries of the universe. His chart symbolically echoes the meeting of soul and science. A stellium in intuitive Cancer (Pluto, Moon, Mars, Jupiter) is balanced in polarity with a demanding Saturn in Capricorn. The grounding Saturn is in trine to his precise Virgo Sun, keeping him from ever losing touch with his analytical knowledge base. In his inspiring Vision for the Third Millennium, he stresses education for the mind, awareness for the spirit and calls for a quick shift toward sustainable living on Earth.

Again marrying science and spirit, he wrote in November 2007 of a need for a new perspective, a rising tide of consciousness, one strong enough to lift all boats. "As a consequence of this shift, the “every man for himself” paradigm fueled by greed will be supplanted by the “all for one and one for all” paradigm fueled by a new spirit of altruism and unity. Predicated on credible science, peoples of the world must come to understand that we really are only as strong as our weakest link; that what we do to others we do to ourselves; and that we are indeed our brother’s keeper quite literally."

He's a mystic, scientist and cosmic visionary for this Pluto in Sadge retro moment. Here's an excerpt from a poem written by Edgar Mitchell called Insight:
A mind that is free, reaches out to destiny
Holding thoughts filled with awe and with love;
To allow Nature’s plan to unfold in every Man
For here below is just like that above.

This is amazing news, Molly. Thank you for directing me to it. I’ll probably write a couple of lines about it myself tomorrow, maybe to reach a different group. This needs spreading! I suppose skeptics will scoff – but don’t they always? ;-)

Hi Twilight,
I didn’t mention here that Edgar Mitchell confirmed that the Roswell crash was real, and coincidentally, he grew up there.
also, the NY Times carried an editorial called, ‘unidentified flying threats’ today, and here’s the link to where it was posted originally.

I’m trying to stay balanced with this because there’s so much we don’t know. We don’t know how advanced the govt technology is, and what they have planned. Will they try to create a new enemy? Will they use this to justify the weaponization of space?
My husband and I joke that if there’s a big ufo event, we won’t jump to conclusions, use discernment. Is it real? Or is it a staged event. Taking a ‘wait and see’ attitude. Being married to a Virgo keeps me from getting too carried away, he he.
