The Moon is waning this week, drawing us into the dark renewal of a new lunation in Virgo (exact on August 30th, 3:58 pm EDT). Virgo is a physically sensitive sign, and this new Moon takes us into soul-sized questions about health and the environment. Small changes you make that potentially bring wholeness, add up, and can ripple out into your circle of friends. You don't have to be perfect! This new Moon shows you what's in your control to change, and the health of your body can be a starting point.

Virgo's attitude of self-reliance and desire to live closer to the natural cycle seems to be catching on, with more news about Victory Gardens for a New Age. More are taking matters into their own hands, especially when it comes to health and nutrition. From the article: "Remember, this is not somebody's thought out plan. It is a phenomenon and an expression of the living energies for renewal that are sweeping through our society. This is a creative energy to renew in many facets, the garden being just one of them. The garden is an expression of a community filled with energy, enthusiasm and love for all life."

The new Moon is a time when renewal is possible. Out of the dark, something unexpected can emerge. It's timely to scale back to the microcosm, the intimate sphere of the body, your daily routine. Virgo is mutable, and capable of morphing to adapt to changing conditions. We're winding down toward the cosmic open moment, the richly mysterious Dark Moon. But the answers that emerge will likely be down-to-Earth, and give even more traction to this longing for wholeness.
