Virgo and the Healing Crisis

Monday August 25, 2008

Sometimes, getting sick is a sign that the body is expelling something from the emotional body. I've experienced this many times, most recently with a sinus issue that came out of the blue. It makes sense when you realize that the body holds emotional memory, which is why a practice like yoga can bring on crying jags. I was surprised to see such a spot on diagnosis of my own recent health issue in Karen Bishop's energy alert. She writes, "When new light arrives, we can feel intense sinus pain and pressure. This is very common. It can also feel as though we are having some challenges with allergies as well (but sometimes we are just having allergy symptoms). The sinus pain is the expansion we feel when we are opening to more light…so is the upper back and neck pain." Bishop has the ability to sense shifting Earth energies, and how that may be expressing itself in the body via these symptoms.

I just found this Holistic Astrology blog (on Elsa's Astrology Top Ten), and timely post called, Learning from Physical Pain. We're in a vortex of Virgo (Sun, Saturn, Mercury, Venus) energy right now, and that makes it easier to read the body's signals. The new Moon in Virgo this Saturday (August 30th, 3:58 pm EDT) heightens that subtle awareness of what's going on with both the body and the Earth. These mini or major healing crisis are often an opportunity in disguise, also known as the breakdown before the breakthrough on the path to becoming whole.
