SuperSized Moon

Friday November 14, 2008

The Moon is in perigee today, which means it's as close as it gets to the Earth. It looks bigger to us, and exerts more gravitational pull. It's still full, and the coinciding of that with its perigee, makes it a SuperMoon. The astrologer Richard Nolle coined that phrase, and has interesting data on past SuperMoons and major earth events at his site, Lunar Extremes.

The Moon so close pulls on us, too, and we might get looney. In Gemini today, that emotionality could come out in increased anxiety, wracked nerves, a frantic need to stay busy, etc. There's a sense that things are changing fast, and it takes time to integrate that before taking new actions. One friend said she was like a deer in the headlights, and so, choosing to do nothing. There are times when Just Don't Do It is a wise mantra. Sometimes the message of the moment is to just ride the changes, and see who you are when the pieces stop flying.
