Aries (and Pisces) Women Save the World

By , About.com GuideJanuary 16, 2009

Follow me on:

They don't just write letters to the editor or march with the masses. Aries women take epic actions to save the Earth or protect those in danger. Two Aries women were in the news recently, with actions that got the world's attention. British actress Emma Thompson (April 15th) signed a deed, together with Greenpeace UK, on land that city officials want to turn into a third runway for Heathrow airport. She put herself on the line, to stop a project that would add to greenhouse gas emissions.

Thompson told reporters, I don’t understand how any government remotely serious about committing to reversing climate change can even consider these ridiculous plans. It’s laughably hypocritical. That’s why we’ve bought a plot on the runway. We’ll stop this from happening even if we have to move in and plant vegetables. A garden! It fits with the rising revolutionary theme of countering the societal forces of destruction, by aggressively cultivating life.

On the other side of the world, my fellow Georgian and former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (Actually, a Pisces: born March 17th) truly ventured into harm's way for a cause. How many of us are heartsick over the nightmarish images coming out of Palestine? Well, here's a woman willing to set sail, literally put her life in danger, on a ship called Dignity, with medical supplies for the Gaza Strip. Her father, a former Georgia State Representative, Billy McKinney, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, She’s a determined woman...this isn’t the first civil right and human rights mission that she’s been on. She explains what happened, and what helps her overcome her fears in a video called What is Dignity? made earlier this week in NYC.

The warrior spirit in Aries has the life force, to be able to catalyze people out of the trance of fear. The Aries mind is direct, and burns away distortions, making it less susceptible to the powerful collective spell we're under. McKinney names that trance of fear, saying, the wall of silence is crumbling. There is a very real disconnect between our values and the values that have captured Washington D.C. Her use of that word captured is a simple, but powerful insight, and intuitively it rings true. Aries love to rescue, and she's on a mission to rescue a nation that has been overtaken by....something. We may not know how to name it, but it's palpable, and apparent with every decision "Washington" makes.

As Americans find their voice and passion for justice again, and feminine warrior energy rises, I predict we'll see more Aries women doing remarkable things. When the revolutionary planet Uranus moves into this sign next year (May, 2010), the sparks we're seeing now will catch on, and before she knows it, she's started a movement.

Hi Molly — Love the article on Aries, but isn’t Cynthia McKinney a Pisces? Wikipedia shows she was born March 17 (not 15) 1955 at which time Sun was in Pisces and there were no planets in Aries.

You are right! She’s a Pisces. Thank you for the correction. Can I blame this on Mercury retrograde? Her progressed Venus is in Aries, giving a fiery style to her public image. But natally, not Aries, a Pisces sun. There’s a grand trine in water, a matrix of heart energy, that I suspect is a motivator…a recognition that we’re all One.
We need wisdom to step forward in all its different guises and forms! Go Pisces! And thank you, Linea….

Thanks Molly! It caught my eye because she was born only 3 days after me so we have very close to the same chart, except her Moon appears to be in Cappy. And — I have Mars in the 1st, a very Aries-like placement (NO ONE has EVER guessed I was a Pisces!) and I wouldn’t be surprised if McKinney has an equally strong Mars, considering her accomplishments.

that’s right — Mars Taurus trining that Cappy Moon. I had a recent reading with a very fiery Pisces, many Aries planets in first house. You’d never guess Pisces. She (Cynthia McKinney) ‘registered’ aries for me, and I saw the March date, plus a ‘missed connection’ on google, and away I went. truly a merc RX moment. It should read, Women Save the World….the first ladies of the Middle East came together last week. wow, that is something, too. It’s starting to happen.
