Star Guide to Weddings
If you're trying to pick a day to get married, April Elliott Kent is the astrologer for you. At her homey colorful site Big Sky Astrology, there's even a free tutorial to help you narrow it down on your own.
Along with being a popular online writer, April is the author of Star Guide to Weddings, Your Horoscope for Living Happily Ever After. This is the ideal gift for a bride-to-be, but married couples can also find out what they've gotten themselves into! The book looks at the Sun sign of the marriage, and how that's the radiating core, just like our own natal Sun signs.
I caught up with April (who lives in San Diego) today, and she reports that the new economic reality hasn't yet affected her client base. She told me, Just as many brides as in the past seem to order full wedding date reports...just as many seem to be planning destination weddings in exotic locations.
But in casting ahead to 2010 nuptials, it looks like more marriages will begin with tense aspects. Says April, What I do find is that good dates are getting harder to come by, although my process of choosing them hasn't changed much in the past eight years or so. Finding dates when the Sun, Moon, and Venus avoid the cross-fire of next year's heinous t-square (Saturn, Jupiter/Uranus, Pluto) is extremely challenging.
Our world is changing fast, and young marriages will be tested by more than the usual newlywed dramas. Says April, I end up giving the best dates I can find and then adding a rather grim paragraph or two about marrying at such a difficult moment in history. No one has made much comment about that stuff yet, but I imagine the landscape of the world may look quite different by the time these couples actually make it to the altar.
Here's an introductory excerpt from her book that tells What Star Guide to Weddings Reveals about Your Marriage. The book itself is available to purchase through Llewellyn's bookstore.
