I woke up feeling heavy in many ways, having absorbed a lot of that discordant family energy of the holidays. And even though I passed up the pecan pie, I'm feeling lethargic, trying to get up the energy to go to yoga. It's like a holiday hangover. But it's also this divine discontent that I see a lot of people experiencing. There is big change in the air.
These days before the New Year are times of harnessing our intent. The Sun's light is growing, and our resolve can grow too. And it's especially important with planets in cardinal signs pushing for change on the one side, and adding resistance on the other. It's a dynamic that marks 2010. Evolutionary astrologer Maurice Fernandez describes this push-pull that we're in well, saying:
"The forces promoting transition and then the forces resisting it are bound to collide. Spiritually, this creates a healthy balance for change cannot be random and whimsical. People will experience this polarity: inspiration versus resistance, within themselves--again, necessarily so. The nature of the Cardinal signs is about moving into the future the right way. If change is rushed, it may fail...Cardinal signs are initiators but hesitant at the same time."
The stakes are higher with cardinal signs, because it's about initiating the new. And that's why being engaged in shaping your intent has never been more important. Quartz crystals (seen here in this image) are known to magnify your intent, and can be allies on your altar. Read more about Maurice's New Year's Prayer and Meditation being held this morning. And now, please excuse me as I attempt to drag myself to yoga class.
