I went out to see the Moonrise last night on the beach, and She was the reddest I've ever seen. Luna cast a dancing light somewhere between Amaranth and Awesome (on the red palette) on the waves coming in.
My friend and I talked about an underlying intensity we're both experiencing -- she called it an edge that's always there. The square between Uranus (in fiery Aries) and Pluto (in formidable earth Capricorn) is a kind of long term crucible, with agitation, heated and inspired conditions, revolutionary change of things in society that are so embedded we don't even see them. The sense of edge is here to stay, and it's worth looking at building up endurance -- spiritual, physical, mental -- to withstand the tension, and use it to make foundational changes.
The other edge some could sense this week is Pluto going direct on Friday (16th), after being retrograde since April 9th. The period of stationing, when the shift is happening, could bring dramatic events.
It's my Virgo man's birthday today, and he's in a blacksmith guild. So I chose this image of the forge, and how even the hardest metals are bendable under extreme heat. I see in it a metaphor for these days when the heat is on! The sense of urgency is aroused, along with a patience to get it right, and not take shortcuts (Pluto Capricorn). The edge is a catalyst, with a demand to be patient with the timing.
The emergence of the new, coincides with the destruction of the old here. What gets us through is trial and error, but also trusting the instincts to act in the moment, when you or a situation is on fire. But you ma sense there's more to break down, and it's wiser to wait. Feel free to share your thoughts if you're sensing that edge, and how you're adapting to pace yourself for this long aspect.
I welcome your photos! f you have an as above, so below picture to share, send your submissions, from literal to poetic, to me with Photo of the Week in the subject line to astrology.guide@about.com. Here's the current collection of pictures of the week around the About.com network.

Molly, something you and I have in common, Virgo mates! Our suns and risings mirror one another. I’m a Scorp with Virgo rising and he is a Virgo with Scorpio rising. I love the hot iron image you chose for this week. I’m going to try to think of my hot flashes as opportunities to be bendable/flexible… ;-P
Yeah Phyl, like that hot yoga, that allows for crazy stretching you couldn’t do otherwise. Your flashes could be like that! ; )
Scorpio-Virgo …very interesting that they’re flip flopped. Both signs that like their privacy and space!
Thanks for commenting and will stop by Wednesday to see your photo of the week.
Oh absolutely,Like a feeling of trepidition…of more to come…difficult not to act upon!
Quite eery!
It’s funny; I just posted something to this effect in Facebook. I feel a strange energy, almost like water building up at a dam. A release is needed. I feel that buildup of pressure and wonder how this release will manifest and what ripple effects there might be. Just my 2cents.
Thank you Yasmin and MrsL,
I think it’s natural to feel that and am glad you spoke up. It’s clear that things are in a breakdown, but what’s next? And the earth changes, solar flares and changes to magnetic field — what will the future look like with these factors going on?
I strongly feel it’s a time for ’situational awareness’ – watching what’s going on in reality, not what’s being told is going on. Listening to instincts and intuition about where to be and what to do.
How can that sense of urgency inspire you (and me) to seize the day, and do things that you might put off. Where’s the opportunity in the moment?
what about Mars in Leo? i’ve been having a week of motivation and ambition and confusion……………!! i keep stubbing my toes!!!
For real Sanfrancisco Jim, similar mix here. Friday we’ve got a super energizing Mars-Uranus trine in Leo-Aries. Self-motivation, will power, vitality, confidence, all that.
Confusion? Yeah, that’s my friend these days. But I’m glad I’ve let go of the illusion of having all the answers. ‘Cause I’m figuring it out as I go along, and that’s the adventure of it. ; )
