It's the largest gathering of astrologers in one place -- I get a vicarious Uranian buzz just imagining it. On conference days, there are 15 lectures going on at the same time! On top of that, it's a trade show for astrophiles, with many bonus happenings like entertainment and nights out on the town. The dates for the United Astrology Conference are May 24 to 29th. I'm sure it's not too late to get on board the astrology party train!
Michael Lutin's presentation OMG, The Mayans Were Right! A Post-Apocalyptic Time-Travel Musical Evening, is sure to break the ice with comedy. Here's a sample of his (sometimes black) humor from YouTube, Astrology Party at Mikeys. It's a taste of what an astrology party is like, and many give their take on 2012 over cocktails.
I just love this line on the year 2012 from Lutin at the end: "I don't know if aliens are going to land their mothership on the White house lawn with a new shade of lipstick for everybody. But I do know that people need something to take them away, some escape, something inspiring...some passion you have that saves you from the mess that seems like it'll never end....'cause it will."
The NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) has a few offerings including a talk on 2012 with Bruce Scofield and a walking tour of The Living History of Astrology in New Orleans! It's also a chance to go for certification in NCGR Levels I to III with proctored testing at the conference.
