Uranus-Pluto Square — Wising Up, Daring to be Self-Authorized

By , About.com GuideJune 12, 2012

Follow me on:

Recently, we got a septic tank permit, and so, for the first time in my life, I've given thought to the subject of human waste. To continue the theme, I just read a prediction in The Economic Collapse Blog, that, "Many communities all over America will degenerate into rotting cesspools." I agree with the writer that the collapse is now, and coming in waves. It's wise to make use of your time, and make commonsensical preparations.

There's denial where we find Pluto, because sometimes the truth is hard to face. But the gift of a collapse that comes in waves is there's time to wise up and adapt. Pluto is the cosmic plumber, who snakes through those backed up places, and unclogs the malodorous messes. Pluto in its roto rooter guise, purges all that's foul from the depths -- what's been out of sight, out of mind, is right there, in your face.

In our situation, I'm hoping we come across a septic design that's less destructive to the land. One master gardener friend suggested the humanure route, but not sure how that flies with local authorities. They seem rather fixed on putting large cement boxes underground, stripping the surface of all bio matter, after which trucked in fill dirt is spread out. That's the authorized way it's done.

That word authority, I learned from astrologer April Elliott Kent, means 'to grow things.' On another definitions site, an author is "the person who originates or gives existence to anything."

I see authority as a top theme with the Uranus-Pluto square. Where does your authority -- power to originate or 'grow things' come from? Some take on authority from being part of a larger entity, an established council, agency or governing body ( Pluto Capricorn). We see people abusing their positions of power, and it's only power that comes from being part of a larger system or force.

Others might act from their own inherent authority to initiate from self-sourced impulses (Uranus Aries). The bridge that's there to another power, as I wrote in an earlier post, is to the Earth and its energies -- still an untapped source of power and knowledge. This is where the power of the cosmos-inspired creator being (Uranus Aries) marries ancient earth wisdom (Pluto Capricorn). And that's the promise of a New Earth -- vitalized and renewed -- where waste returns to the system, and even becomes fertilizer for growing things.

Thank you, Molly.

Love the “cosmos-inspired creator being” marrying “ancient earth wisdom”. Vertical and horizontal with the axis being the human or our choice of right action. Amazing time to be alive…

On a related note, Paul Stammet’s has some wonderful examples of myco-remediation for septic systems. You may be familiar with his work at Fungi Perfecti. His book _Mycellum Running_ has wonderful stories about his experiments with treating septic run-off on the property where he lives in Washington.

Thank you again for your work – it’s always helpful to read your posts (even if I don’t comment on them regularly).

Ours seemed pretty natural, dug a deep hole, installed concrete tank added gravel and dug leach lines, no wonder my garden grew so well :) we certainly are purging our living environment these days and still have a ways to go.

Sukhmandir, you’re reminding me of a book my Mom had by Erma Bombeck called, ‘the Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank!”

And Erica, Thanks for that tip. I’ve heard of that book, from the same friend mentioned in this post, and elsewhere. I saw a talk he gave…something to the effect, and this may sound like a grandiose claim, that mushrooms can save the earth.
