More Likely to Die on Birthday?

A Swiss research team says you're more likely to die on your birthday. The study names it an anniversary reaction that ups the odds of to 14%, especially if you're an elder (over 60). The risks are for heart attack (18.6 pecent higher in men) and stroke (21.5 percent in women), suicide and accidents.

In astro lingo, we call birthdays the solar return. The Sun returns to the astrological degree of our birth, for a solar blast that's perhaps too much excitement for one day! The Sun (and Leo) rules the heart. It's also a day of heightened awareness of mortality, and reaching a certain landmark age. And on birthdays, we go off the rails, overindulge, and seek ways to make it memorable. Sometimes "firsts" happen on birthdays, like skydiving, or like on New Year's Even, there's an intense pressure to be social beyond what feels natural.

I'd say it's a reminder not to pack too much into one day. And to keep working on that timeless, ageless attitude!

Whoah, Elizabeth, and you were on my mind today (the 14th). Wanted to swap sixth senses. Odds favor having a sun-kissed day, for birthdays in general – hope it was special and ‘happy’ in the real sense.
