Solar Eruptions, DNA & the Third Eye

The Sun is the elephant in the astrological living room, because its effects on Earth and the body's electromagnetic field are dramatic and in some cases, extreme. In an article called Solar Storms and the Pineal Gland, Riding the Power Wave, the writer Adonai says, "We are physically, mentally, and emotionally altered by electromagnetic charges from the sun, our body can feel sleepy but also become highly energized."

Insomnia and amped up energies. Superfast burning away of illusion, and a quickening of awareness. Strange weather and the upsetting animal deaths and disorientation (beaching). Are these all a side effect of the changing Sun? The astronomers say we're in a solar maximum cycle to peak in 2013, and to expect more and bigger flares. And indigenous elders, like Mayan elder Carlos Barrios, speak of a new Sun, the 5th Sun that is altering us and the planet. And the Sun, and Earth alignments to the galactic center, herald the awakening of what's dormant in our DNA, and the return to a connection to the greater cosmos.

A prescient article from 2002, from Steven McFadden, is still one of my favorite articles about this year 2012. It's called A Steep Uphill Climb to 2012, Messages from the Mayan Milieu. In it, Barrios talks of the polarities of dark and light facing off in our time. His message is simple and we can see that his forecast stands the test of time. He ends by saying, "The real knowledge is free. It's encoded in your DNA. All you need is within you."

Adonai writes that solar energies activate melatonin in the pineal gland (or third eye). And that melatonin is a protector of DNA, which is why I wanted to share with you these two articles. There are some links there to articles on de-calcifying the pineal gland, which I'll be looking into later.

It's Leo season, and I'll be focusing on the Sun (Leo's ruler) and Earth particularly this month. I see a parallel here too, with Uranus (big mind) in Aries (original surge) to the eruption of dormant gifts and knowing. From awakening to new ways of perceiving, we're able to reclaim perceptual faculties that could be called (thinking of Aries), our natural and cosmic birthright.
