This is a Virgo New Moon weekend, for cleansing and integrating. It's one to be compassionate toward what's wrong or unresolved, and accept that we're each works-in-progress.
I've been thinking about this thing in our culture, where the promise of total fulfillment is always just out of reach. And that we will someday arrive, once and for all, in a state of pure bliss with all areas of our lives flowing perfectly. It leads to self-judgment and denies our humanity, as souls in earth school, getting the teachings. And in striving to become whole, we make a beeline to the imperfections -- they alert us to the next steps.
This is a New Moon to embrace change as the only sure thing, while appreciating those rare moments of feeling whole. On Virgos, Norwiegan astrologer Per Henrik Gullfoss writes, "They shall learn to be happy by seeking perfection that is only experienced in small moments, and then letting go and moving toward the next moment. The honey created by movement and search is to be shared with the world."
Suggestions for the Virgo New Moon (Exact this Saturday, Sept 15th, 2012, at 10:11 pm EDT):- If you're stuck, look at programs for "movement and search" -- healing regimens, support groups (12-step, book club, ritual circle), restorative travel (spa, hot springs, big open spaces), more physical activity (stretching, yoga, walking).
- Restore sanity -- see where you're caught in loops of self-denigration.
- Share your healing journey with others (through art, volunteering, a blog, etc).
