Virgo New Moon: "Practical Optimism"

Follow me on:

If we're shaped by a world out of whack and showing signs of collective madness, then the way to wholeness is one of undoing. That's been my experience, since I read my first self-help book back in the day, through 12-step groups and visiting all manner of healers, DNA activators, psychics, etc. The Virgo New Moon is here (exact tonight at 7:11 pm PDT/10:11 EDT), with astrological conditions right to unravel, decompress and heal distortions.

This says it all from author Demetra George comes from Mysteries of the Dark Moon.

"Whenever aspects of the wholeness of ourselves are not expressed and accepted but rather denied and rejected, they become distorted. When the shadow is confined to the dark realms of our unconscious, it becomes constricted, twisted and deformed. As it festers, toxic by-products are released into our bodies and minds. These poisons contort our physical features, and they also obscure the mental lens out of which we perceive the world. Our view of ourselves, of others, and of the world is colored by these poisons in our mindstream that are being generated by the rejected aspects of ourselves."

The body and mind become a restrictive prison, and as George notes, "when we are extremely righteous and rigid, the shadow will become exaggerated and destructive." This is a lunation to purify and heal distortions of the mind. Bruce Lipton, the biologist known for his work on the power of belief, says humanity is on the verge of "spontaneous evolution." He's a teacher of an online course that's Virgoan in theme, Involuntary Simplicity: "Spontaneous Evolution from the Inside Out.

From the course description: "At a time when so many individuals are facing challenges, financial and otherwise, people are seeking practical optimism. They want to feel better in the short run, AND have ways to transform the crises they are facing into opportunities that propel them toward a new level of growth."

I like this phrase practical optimism for this New Moon. This speaks to being grounded and aware, and making a commitment to focus on the best possible outcome. The next Full Moon is in Aries (September 29th) -- it will be super intense. Now is the time to call forth your wise inner healer. The next few days are ideal for a personal house cleaning, and nurturing that grounded faith in the future. I'll be going into retreat now -- many blessings of healing to each of you!
