Over my morning coffee, I found some inspired commentary from Melody Scott Zindell, on a Yod formation this month. Yod is a Hebrew word and this planetary phenomenon is also known as the Hand of God. In her YouTube podcast, Melody illustrates what she first calls the crisis of conscience, then corrects to consciousness. I think both are fitting descriptions. Her narrative points out the silver lining, to the struggles of our time.
This is a follow-up to the post on Jupiter's quincunxes to Venus-Mars. The December Yod also stars Jupiter (in Gemini), in that same quincunx (150 degree) angle to the energies of Scorpio and Capricorn. But the Yod is with cosmic heavyweights Saturn and Pluto, aiming toward Jupiter. It's exact in those days around the solstice (Dec. 20-23). The Yod is Saturn and Pluto in sextile (an angle that's mutually reinforcing), and both at that quincunx angle to Jupiter, the planet of breakthroughs, inspiration and the future.
Melody describes the influence of the Uranus-Pluto square, along with Saturn, in a greater call for each to "actualize our own authority" and find our "role in society." This Yod, she says, brings a sense of being "fated, and pointing to solutions that are never easy, that may involve sacrifice." But with Jupiter in this guiding role, there is "divine illumination and inspiration." Her encouragement is that there is grace to be found in this crisis time, and with the magical Yod, potential for unprecedented growth.
I resonated bigtime with her commentary, as I seek to reconcile a push-pull struggle within myself. It's sensing a call to go beyond the loops of the past, but to do so, needing to revisit old programming. And to know what's in my control (my own individual responses, actions, well being and awakening), and what's not. And what role to play, keeping true to my lowkey nature, but knowing when I'm hiding out of fear (of exposure). These are all ongoing question marks and works in progress for me, and Melody's artful use of astrology reminded me that it's a divine struggle. And that the Yod gives us a bright spot on the horizon, and to keep the faith.
