Uranus Transit to Mercury - An Astrologer's View

By January 6, 2013

Follow me on:

The combo of mighty forces Uranus and Pluto BOTH engaging one of your natal planets is a very intense -- and rare -- experience. In the first of the series, author/astrologer Eileen Grimes looks at transits to (natal) Mercury.

As she tells the tale, this is a stripping away and launching process that alters your way of thinking forever. This piece focuses on Uranus, with Pluto to follow, though she mentions both since they are traveling close through 2015.

Wonderful post!!!
I was checking my chart for the next New Moon Capricorn and noticed the upcoming transits from this year on — before Uranus oppose Uranus , it’s transiting Pluto that is going to conjunct natal Mercury in Capricorn(11 degrees,6th house).
Uranus-Pluto will touch so many of my natal planets(Mercury,Moon,Uranus and Saturn) and many cardinal points(MC,IC,Ascendant,Descendant).I7m already feeling the coming Pluto-Mercury conjunction, which is somewhat bringing me relief from the difficult Neptune square my natal conjunction Neptune,Mars,Jupiter I’ve been through since last year. The most challenging period was when Neptune was retrograde. And not even Saturn square Sun transit was so challenging under Neptune pressure!
Thank you so much for sharing this post! That’s a beacon of light for me!
Happy New Year Molly & Eileen!

Sylvia, I too am sensing the approach of Ur-Pl to my Sun-Saturn square. What comes to mind is making the most of the down times to fill the well. One day at a time! Warmly, Molly

Hi Sylvia! Many thanks for your feedback on the Uranus portion of this piece. I’m working on the Pluto side right now. You’re going to find that the Uranus opposition is pretty powerful – thats when I started studying astrology :) It sounds like you get your transits in one big lump – lots of planets conjunct or closely squaring – in close degrees, I am betting. I’ve seen charts like that – they get one big huge massive transit over their own traffic jam of planets – all the growth comes in a really short span of time, then there might be years, when there isn’t as much upheaval.

Thank you again for the good words! Eileen
