During Cancer season we are often awash in emotions, able to connect in with a well of raw feelings, which may lead to a roller coaster of moods. What’s important for health on all levels is not to deny or repress the emotions to which we are connecting. Rather, we should allow them.
Yet, if the feelings seem intense—which is likely the case for many since the Pluto and Uranus placement in cardinal degrees are instigating us to help us break free of internal repression—it’s necessary to have support systems built in to allow for positive emoting. Try not to pull back into your shell too much during this time; be open to and seek out the company of friends, family, and/or counselors who can hold space for you in a compassionate way.
Connecting to the healing power of water can be really helpful. If you live by the water, spending some time in it or at its shores can be soothing. So can taking baths or enjoying hydrotherapy spa treatments.
Flower essences can be graceful healing companions as well. If you find yourself having a hard time letting go of the past, try Honeysuckle. If you need help breaking links of old patterns, Walnut may be beneficial. Baby Blue Eyes is a wonderful remedy if you’re facing heightened defenses and find you can’t let down your guard; it helps to melt the Cancer shell by inspiring a sense of feeling cared for and supported.
On July 19, we experience the Cancer New Moon. It’s a time to heal familial wounds as well as explore and understand what it takes for us to feel truly nourished. We are in a new cycle of becoming; the timing is auspicious for taking the opportunity to see what old patterns, habits, and life approaches we want to shed so that we can plant seeds for that which we want to manifest over the coming months.
