Unprecedented Times

What's happening is that major planets -- that strip us down to the essence (Pluto) and jerk us forward (Uranus) have moved into cardinal signs. Some things we thought were solid -- jobs, relationships -- are breaking apart. This is really, really hard and upsetting for many. It brings out all our fears of survival, and anxiety about how we'll live.

It's so important not to get so lost in the energy of crisis, that you miss the flashes of the new. Uranus-Jupiter in Aries are doing their part to drop surprises on the path. These bright spots can revive our faith, and become part of a new beginning.

Saturn the shaper of order is in Libra, a sign of re-balancing. If we're alert, we can keep finding our footing, and keep steering our own ship toward the highest outcome. Saturn Libra is like having a rudder of integrity, and built-in sense of fairness. August is a special time, when Mars and Venus (by the 6th) are both in Libra. In the riotous clashes within each of us, and in the greater "all of Us," the detached Libra mind and intensity to reach equilibrium goes a long way.

The bottom line is that cardinals signs are the starting point -- that's why there's no precedent -- we are in totally new territory. With cardinal energy, there is significant forward movement, major life changes, endings and beginnings. Do you feel this in your own life? Almost like dying and being born again?

False Bottom Falls Out

Since Pluto went into Capricorn in November 2008, the ground beneath us has been shaking in more ways than one. Capricorn rules economics, mega-corporations, the elite classes, governmental hierarchies -- basically the blueprints of society that are so embedded, we often don't even see them.

Pluto's role as a cosmic body is to regenerate -- by any means necessary -- what's no longer serving us. With Pluto in Capricorn, we're seeing the result of our disconnection to Earth as our sustainer. It's time now to rebuild that bridge to the Earth, and Pluto leads the way.

Some Themes:
  • Take responsibility for your own survival, and reinsert yourself into the natural world.
  • Look at ways you've given over your freedom and power -- to an authority figure, an institution, a leader, a mindset, a lifestyle.
  • Look at ways you've sold your soul -- for a job, status, a marriage, a friendship, a place in society, money.
The Power of Now

This is not a story of doom and gloom, but one of head-spinning change. Uranus and Jupiter are in Aries, the sign that gives us the rush of Spring and new life. As the old cracks off, what rough n' ready You is there alert to the moment? The antidote to hopelessness and despair, is to keep your eyes on the prize! The prize is the new you that's emerging, one that's freer and with greater will to act on your drives, passions, gifts, talents and loves.

You make the most of this by acting, rather than reacting. To spend time generating your intentions, from an inner call you've been hearing your whole life. A key is letting go of who you think you are, and what's possible, and staying open.

Clearing, the Void, Personal Evolution

As Pluto and Uranus square off, there's a lot of breakdown, and surprising fresh starts out of the blue, and even having one foot in both. Some opportunities can come from the breaking apart. It's critical to turn inward, and hone your ability to hear your own guidance. This comes through flashes of intuition, synchronicity, messages people tell you, and so on. As you grow stronger in this perception, you'll start to know what has a greater charge for you.

If you can tune in, you find stability in the connection you have to your higher self (God, spirit). It's taking responsibility for your own evolution -- mind, body and spirit -- to adapt to the changes around you.

The Cardinal Cross

As the Moon goes into Cancer on Friday, August 6th at 5:50 pm EDT and 9:50 pm Universal Time, the four corners of the cardinal cross are activated. Some astrologers are calling this the Cardinal Climax. This brings Venus-Mars together with Saturn in Libra, in opposition to Uranus-Jupiter Aries. These are square to Pluto in Capricorn, and the Moon joins in its own sign for unity of all the four elements.

It's helpful to trust in your ability to move through these changes. It's natural to feel trepidation, but it's hard on the body and soul to stay in fear full time. Trust your instincts, be human at every opportunity, and stand in who you are, drawing from your higher wisdom.
