Here's the interview with Jean Lachowicz, founding member of Scorpios for Hillary.
What inspired you to create Scorpios for Hillary?Hillary was speaking at a huge rally in Chicago, and I was in the audience marveling at her passion, her intelligence, and her sincerity. I was really caught up in the moment, watching the people responding to her so positively. I began thinking about how perfect she is for the role of first woman US president -- tough, smart, and creative.
Then I thought about the people who say she is cold and calculating and nothing could have been further from the woman I saw speaking on that stage. The only way I can understand a "disconnect" so great is to think about the way I've learned some people perceive me and the other Scorpios I know. I guess Scorpiocity can be easily misinterpreted.
As I was winding through the crowd to leave after the event, I began creating the website in my mind and launched it a few days later.
How many of you are there?Well, I'm hearing from new Scorpios every day when they see the site. Only a few people have come forward with posts so far (and I must admit that the dog on the website is MINE), but I hope there will be many more--especially after the Primaries. I'd say our group is about 20-25 people at the moment, but steadily growing.
Hillary and her most recent sparring partner Barack (Leo) have dueling Suns -- what makes you think she is the mightier candidate?
Bill Clinton is a Leo. I think she has studied the Leo energy for a long time and she fully understands it. There's nothing Obama could do that would surprise her. Understanding an opponent is a very powerful place to be in an election!
Has she commented, or do you think she's aware of this formidable block of support?Within a few hours of the site being launched, before it was on any search engines, I had 35 hits from New York alone. Just about the same number from New York also visited my own communications business website at the same time, so I'm guessing they are Hillary people who wanted to find out more about me and see whether I'm friend or foe. That's just what I would do! I haven't heard anything from the campaign, but I have a hunch Hillary is well aware of us.
Now that the site has been around a few weeks, we're getting hits from all over the world.
What Scorpio traits do you see in her....that you admire...that make you nervous that she might wield such 'terrible' power?
I'm in awe of her masterful use of the famous Scorpio Stinger. Impressive! Seriously, though, the trait I most admire is her hard work. She has laser-like focus on her work and she does not recoil at the prospect of failure--she simply pushes forward. She loves America with a great passion, and will work her tail off as president. She is not afraid to dig deep into the issues and she is not afraid of going elbow-deep into the big messes the next president will have to clean up.
I'm not nervous at all about her ability to wield power. It's the guy who's in the White House right now that I'm worried about. At least I know I can trust Hillary Clinton! As far as Hillary's stinger is concerned, it's best to detect it when you see her in person. She gets a wonderful glimmer in her eyes!
What kind of first fellow do you think Bill would be?I think Bill and Hillary are deeply in love as partners as partners and as friends. They have sincere respect for each other, and their bond is incredibly strong. Bill would make a great First Laddie because he would bring so much life force and energy into it. He is the perfect person to mend broken fences around the world.
I met her years ago as a reporter, and back then I remember seeing her in a lot of matching skirt/jacket combos in blues, purples, green, occasionally even pastels -- now she goes for the power suit. Does she dress for success, in your opinion?Scorps are usually better off avoiding the pastels! The "power suit" with sensible shoes certainly fits her personality. But even more than the clothes she wears, I am always struck by the beauty of her eyes. She's the real deal.
What is the mission of Scorpios for Hillary?Such a large part of today's political analysis is about number crunching, but intuitive analysis is way more fun and probably more accurate. We are a group of Scorpios who see the classic Scorpio traits as wonderful presidential traits, and we see Hillary Clinton as the best hope for the future of this country.
This presidential election is historic and its importance cannot be underestimated. We're just giving our own unique spin to the proceedings.
