The Taurus-Scorpio Polarity

Taurus and Scorpio are Zodiac signs whose driving interest is wealth and the stability that goes along with it. For the big picture, let's think of wealth as all kinds of assets, from the hard ones (like money) to intangibles (like natural talents).

Taurus and Scorpio are known as a polarity—they are opposite Zodiac signs. They have similarities, with both being yin, fixed and stubborn as all get out. Both are to do with creativity, security, control (of personal or shared wealth) and are patient.

And both have strong desires that drive them on. But sensual Taurus is mellow compared to the legendary passions of Scorpio. Unless, the Bull is enraged, and then it's another story!

Shaping and Shiftshaping

The Taurus mission is to root in and establish earthly form—it follows Aries the impulsive life force of Spring. Taurus has instincts to settle into a place or vocation, and grow steadily to build a prosperous life.

A big difference for Scorpio is the urge to merge, to share resources with the idea that the creative union will bear even more fruit. If Taurus is about the shape of things—the form—Scorpio shifts that shape, and to do that, uses their own resources, and sometimes others, too.

Yin Magnetic

Taurus and Scorpio are both considered negative, which is simply a way of saying they are receptive or Yin (instead of Yang). Ponder how these signs brood and quietly conspire to draw to them what they want in love and everything else.

Both keep their aims close to the chest, and this is a way of protecting growing desires before they're broadcast. And that's a trait of Taurus and Scorpio—being protective of what's theirs.

Being feminine signs in astrology, there's a magnetic quality, and holding things or energy. This gets extreme when Taurus is possessive, to the point of stifling their growth with all the heaviness of stuff.

Scorpio has its own habits of holding when the notion of shared wealth becomes to control. Scorpio gets into the business of others, and sometimes to a harmful degree. That comes from crossing over into the realm of others, and sensing what can be created, changed or wrestled into control.

Taurus magnetic pull could be said to be mostly physical, as an earth sign. Scorpio's lure is psychic, and this is an emotionally charged water sign.

Second and Eighth Houses

Taurus rules the Second House, while Scorpio's domain is the Eighth House. With this in mind, we can pull out more ways they're different or similar.

The main one is the reality of personal resources vs. shared ones.

Taurus and the Second House are the realm of making your own way, self-sufficiency, personal possessions. And this is where you get the Scorpio-Eighth House shared wealth themes of taxes, inheritance, shared assets and debt.

You can also look at Taurus-Scorpio as the natural and the supernatural. Taurus primarily looks for ways to stabilize the material situation, using natural gifts and what's available.

Scorpio has a way of reaching out beyond their own personal boundaries and draws from strong intuitive senses. An extreme form of Scorpio is the handler, who seeks to amass wealth from the natural talents of another.

Taurus is likened to the toddler that thinks all toys are "Mine!" And in some Taurus-strong people, we see that selfish streak. But most are so good at flourishing, that they have more than enough, and it generously spills out toward others.

Scorpio is sometimes reluctant to merge finances with others and may stay solo to avoid sharing it. But if trust is there, they have a genius instinct for taking what's "Ours" and magnifying its power. There's no greater ally than a Scorpio that SEES and helps you use your talents.
