Pisces and Neptune. A time of mystery, uncertainty and possible deception.
 18-The Moon

Rider Waite Tarot/Public Domain Image

The Moon in the Tarot signals things are not as they seem (appear). The seeker is wise to be alert to illusion, and people or situations that hook you in at a level below conscious awareness. The Moon symbolizes times of being lost, unsure what's "real," or sensing strange vibes. The seeker knows there's more to the story, but much is veiled or distorted.

The Moon turns up when the seeker has left the shore of the known, and is now out to sea. The journey takes you into the vastness of the imagination. You meet parts of the self that exist outside space and time. Your awareness of other realms of knowing is expanded. This is a rich time for the artist and dreamer.

The Moon let's you know you're in master class, where the discernment of the heart will see you through. It can indicate you're realizing you've been operating under false pretenses. Or having been "acting out," and now have to deal with the repercussions. Or you're emerging from a haze of addiction, escapism, "checking out."

This card is about seeing in the dark, by Moonlight (instincts and intuition), when that's the only light available. It's an enveloping experience that reveals more depth of meaning, and can evoke a sense of wonder or enchantment.
