The full Moon in Taurus (Exact on Friday, October 26th at 12:51 a.m. EDT) is a celebration of the senses, a time to enjoy the earthly pleasures. Taurus stabilizes the lunar moodiness, lending the focus of fixed signs, so you can get things done in a calm, grounded way. This full Moon inspires actions that bring stability and comfort. If the new Moon in Libra inspired plans for creating balance, the full Moon is a time when they begin to bear fruit, or for taking tangible steps. Taurus reminds us to make the most of our resources, and to squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of what we do have.

The earth sign Taurus roots in, and stays put, and through this, has intimate knowledge of its surroundings. Coming after the Aries seed, Taurus blooms where planted, and then gets busy drawing what it needs from the environment. Out of this comes the traditional Taurean drive to accumulate money and possessions, as part of building up an enduring structure. This is a full Moon to look at how well you're using your resources, including money. Are there ways to draw on your natural gifts that can lead to financial abundance? This full Moon points you in that direction.

This full Moon is a reminder of the awesome reality of the living world, of which we're a part. Last year, I had what seemed like a mystical experience after a kitty of mine passed away. I'd always watch her in the backyard through the window, and marvel at how happy she was in her little outdoor paradise, stopping to smell every blade of grass. After her curiosity took her too far, and we lost her, for a few days, I saw through her eyes. Everything in our overgrown backyard looked like it was shimmering with color and life. This vision didn't last long, but I've held onto it as a reminder that the natural world is vibrantly alive.

A strange reality about modern life is the idea that Nature is separate from us, that some of us "go out into nature." The gulfs grow when we're cut off from the processes that create our food, products from the Earth that nourish us. One group trying to restore that link is Slow Food International, founded twenty years ago in Italy. They're advocates of the timeless ritual of eating, restored to its place as one of life's pleasures. A Taurean banquet is not fast food, but a relaxed meal savored slowly. This is a great full Moon to linger at the dinner table, and treat your taste buds to something special.

Taurus is embedded in the physical, putting us in touch with our animal selves. Look to animals for inspiration this full Moon. There's the sensual cat that stretches for pleasure, not for exercise. And then there's the unabashedly lusty behavior going on in the dog park, stuff that makes owners giggle, blush or even get offended. "You're an animal" can be an insult or a sexy affirmation of your lover's natural desires. Let it be the latter this full Moon in Taurus, an ideal time to give in to sensual abandon with the one you love.

Years ago, I had a Taurus roommate that lounged around common areas in the buff. Bulls love to get naked because their power is expressed through their physicality. Taurus is an earth creature that loves to feel the Sun on the skin, rub oils on the body and indulge the taste buds with tasty snacks and brews. This is a full Moon to reclaim cozy comforts, and for taking time to wind down and be renewed by them. Shake off the stress, put on your satin slippers and eat chocolate. Under this Moon, things like foot massages, the smell of something simmering on the stove and unhurried time in the garden are all deeply life-affirming. Do the things that remind you that there is still beauty in life, and things that make it pleasurable.

The Sun in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer makes this huggy moon that much more heartfelt and sexual-sensual. But with Saturn and Venus in harmonious earth signs, there's also a desire to show affection in practical ways. Venus will oppose the Awakener Uranus in Pisces (Exact on October 25th at 5:08 a.m.), opening our sense of spiritual responsibility and concern to include all of humanity. It also shows how your personal actions can make a big difference in the world. Jupiter and Pluto nearing a conjunction in visionary Sadge open the door to bold ideas about sharing the Earth's abundance. Retrograding Mercury in Libra makes sure those ideas have the ring of fairness.
