When the Sun is in Taurus, slow and steady become the mode. We’re more concerned with earthly concerns (and earthly delights) and following practical routes to achieve our aims.

Given that Mercury, the planet of communication, is also plodding through Taurus, it is especially important to pay attention to our throat, one area of the body governed by this sign. Any stress or tension we accumulate may manifest there with sore or scratchy throats, or light bouts of laryngitis, becoming more common.

Some great ways to keep our throat in tip-top shape include drinking warm honey/lemon water or herbal teas made from slippery elm and/or marshmallow herbs. Also, communicating our needs can go a long way toward bolstering our throat chakra’s well-being.

When we’re surrounded with Taurean energy, our senses get turned on. We find extra pleasure in the smell of a flower, the notes in a musical piece, the feeling of a certain fabric, and the flavors bursting forth from our food. We can use this heightened sense connection to enhance our wellness; examples include preparing a facial mask from avocados and honey, spending more time working in the garden, and cooking a luscious meal using the freshest of the season’s produce offerings.

One thing to watch for during Taurean-infused times is over-attachment to our routines and habits. We may be very happy plodding along in the “known” with the idea of change causing an extra dose of stress. We may derive great comfort from just doing the same thing again and again, even if we know that it’s not necessarily something that is in our highest interest.

If this sounds like something that you’re tending toward, you may want to look into Chestnut Bud flower essence. This natural remedy is a great one to use when we need a little assistance breaking out of well-tread but unsupportive routines. (Flower essences are made from flower-infused water and work energetically to restore emotional and mental balance. You can find them in natural food stores or holistic pharmacies.)

Wishing you all the best during Taurus season,
Stephanie
