You could say our world is stamped contents under pressure, and the full Moon in Aries sets the stage for a lunar peak of outbursts. Aries is the energy of Spring and fresh starts. This may not be the dawn that comes after the darkest hour, but it brings a boost of courage to turn toward the new. Aries just Is, and this full Moon reminds us to just be and experience the crazy times we're living in. Can you laugh through the tears? Can you feel the fear and do it anyway? Is it the end of the world, or the start of a new adventure...in the void, we experience the shocking, exciting reality that it's both.
Last year, I wrote about Fool in the Tarot, and how bravely (and like a hero in an epic), he takes off with just the essentials in a knapsack on his back. It's a full Moon with the potential to instill a sense of awe and wonder, of living in times where we will essentially be creating the world anew. The chart for the Full Moon (exact on October 14th at 4:02 EDT) has the Moon at 21 degrees, in opposition to the Sun in Libra. The high wattage Aries Moon adds power to the Sun in en-lightening Libra. We could see brave, pioneering actions that come from a vision based in fairness, justice, harmony and global equity. The global warriors for Terra (Earth) and humanity just might make a stand.
Mercury winds down its retrograde, and under this illuminating Moon, old timeless ideas become new. A parallel vision of what could be, is brought to life in the mind. The balancing view of what's going on comes to light. We could see some truth telling that moves across like a fresh breeze, and changes everything.
The Sun and Moon both square Jupiter in Capricorn, anchoring the exuberance in the real and tangible. Faith is restored only when there's substance behind actions and ideas. It's another sunny spot in the full Moon chart. That integrity and a sense of purpose will be a strong motivating impulse under this action-oriented full Moon.
The trine to Pluto in Sagittarius allows the launch of visions beyond duality and dogma. Aries rushes forward into ground that has vitality -- it's not in this cardinal fire's nature to hash and re-hash. It's a full Moon when we start to reap the rewards of this long journey through double-speak and mass manipulation of reality. Look for impassioned language about the future, that's meant to instill faith in our ability to transcend this economic collapse.
The Saturn-Uranus opposition is tightening in orb and pressure, which will peak on Election Day. Whatever emotional chaos and release (Uranus in Pisces) is triggered by economic instability, will no doubt be met by authoritarian (Saturn) barriers and borders. But Saturn in Virgo also gives us the sense of duty to help others, and fosters a community reaction to what's going on. Saturn helps us rein in our own all-over-the-map emotions, so we can mind our health, find stability in a daily routine, attempt to purify the toxic currents we're exposed to. It also gives you the ability to be discerning about information that has an emotional charge, so you don't fall for every manipulation of fear and anger thrown your way.
The awakener Uranus (Pisces) is in trine to Venus in Scorpio. Intense primal emotions, like fears of survival, emerge and can be shared with friends and family. All kinds of demons, subconscious fears and old traumas get jostled, and brought to the surface. You can move through it all swiftly now, and experience the release of the old, to make way for the new. This is a time to love yourself fiercely.
At this moment of danger and possibility, see if you can't marvel at the spectacle of it all. That you're alive to witness such events. The old world we've known, that sense of what's normal, is falling away. There's always confusion and disorientation in such times. But there's also a sense of magic afoot, that we're guided in each step through serendipity. Many are coming alive with a sense of purpose they didn't have before. We know change is necessary and like Twilight said in a comment recently, we should be glad, but also a little tremulous. And we've got what it takes to create a bright future, no matter what happens. The Aries spirit of the full Moon helps us believe in new beginnings, even as we're grieving the loss of the old.
