Full Moon in Sagittarius
The Light of Truth

This full Moon is in Sagittarius, the fiery sign that sees into the true nature of things. It's the sign of the upbeat seeker, with a special kind of sight that's sweeping and often prophetic. Prepare yourself for all kinds of illumination at this lunar peak! It might come in dream images, or a spontaneous current of thought. This full Moon is ideal for being present to visions, especially ones that inspire you with a sense of purpose.

It comes at the end of the Mercury retrograde, when the mind has been covering old ground. In Gemini, Mercury has been staring into the reflecting pool, with the very nature of what we perceive up for review. Things held up in a mirror reflect the image in reverse. Gemini is the sign of polarities, and the "shadow side" of any situation. Is there a parallel narrative that's in the shadows? This retrograde has brought out truths in the collective, and perhaps in relationships, that now can be somehow integrated into the broader vision.

The full Moon allows the intuition, along with an experience of things on the ground to round out the picture. The full Moon is a chance to get a peek beyond black & white thinking, and see life from a new vantage point. Our world is so polarized that it's ripe for a rupture. The Sadge vision quickly gets the essence of what's at play there, and frees thought by busting into the mental territory beyond duality.

In the book 2012: Crossing the Bridge to the Future, the astrologer Ellias Lonsdale calls Gemini the sign of the future. He's quoted as saying that "the most evolved version of Gemini is here to show the world an effortless way to transform." The Sun-Mercury in this mentally flexible sign helps us move the pieces of the mental puzzle around more easily. When what we think we know is not fixed in place, a new vision can emerge from what we discover to be true.

There's a mystic rectangle configuration with the full Moon, that brings together tensions and harmonies in equal measure. In her article, Far Seeing, Far Knowing: the Mystic Rectangle, Julie Demboski writes, "Though it may seem contradictory for such an opportunity to arise during a Mercury retrograde, it’s actually the opposite: by loosening the tenacious grip of the mind, the retrograde allows, even encourages, accessing the intuitive, the felt, the truly observed, that which is seen as it is, without any imposed prejudices or filters. But what is it, we may wonder, that we’re being allowed to see?"

"We’re being offered both access to the Collective wisdom (Neptune, Uranus, Aquarius, Chiron, Sagittarius) and the individual ability to use it (Mars, Leo, Juno, the Sun). Our own personal life plan, intricately interwoven with that of every other Being on the planet (North and South Nodes) is also involved, telling us that we are acting not just in our own interests but as significant actors in the dramas of others, as well."

There's such a call for truth these days, and this full Moon can carry us beyond the chatter, fragments, lone dots, etc to something that resonates on a deeper level. The idea of resonance goes beyond being in sinq on the mental plane, to something that rings true on many levels, including the physical. The body has its own ways of telling you when something is "off."

With the high vitality, and potential for going beyond limiting perceptions, it's a great time to be with inspired friends. You could declare your independence from bad habits that keep your mind corralled or numbed out. As the traditional sign of the future, Sagittarius gets all the wheels turning, to come up with big aspirations. Try opening to a sense of mission this full Moon, and see what kinds of serendipities and messages come your way.
