New Moon in Libra
Luminous Earthling

Just as the fate of the once mighty U.S. hangs in the balance, a new Moon in Libra (September 29th, 4:12 am EDT) draws us into an astro vortex of fairness, just decisions and integrity. The chart shows the Sun and Moon in the sign of the Scales, along with Mars and Mercury in retrograde. There's a sense that formerly hidden truths about the global financial system are being exposed in a deluge. It's a time to choose to prop up that corrupt, decaying-from-within system, or reach for something new. Americans are waking up to something that'll impact their economic future to infinity. Will leaders ignore that voice of protest, or go along with their corporate benefactors in a final act of betrayal. The world is surely holding its breath, wondering which it'll be.

Last year, I wrote about the relationship aspect of this lunation. Libra is high romance, the yearning for a mate to lean on, and balance you out. It's the sense that you're missing your other half. There's also a convergence of dualities going on, that forces a review of who we've seen across the aisle or as somehow the shadow to our light. The situations stewing in this dark place of possibility require compromise, good old-fashioned diplomacy, and the light of clarity. Things are so off-balance that we can no longer hold views of us vs. them. The time is right, and there's hope for remarkable acts that transcend the little politics, and reach for the a vision that's above all that.

With Mars in Libra, the vitality of the red planet bursts forth like the courage of a forceful statesman. Abraham Lincoln had this Mars, and was known for being able to build alliances between bitter rivals. When tensions were already rising in 1861 America, he tried to rouse a passion (Mars) for the common national history in his First Inaugural Address. He ended with, I am loath to close. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

This is a critical moment of choice, and Libran luminosity can be your guide. The sabian symbols for the new Moon's degree (at 6) is A man watches his ideals taking a concrete form before his inner vision. It's about acting on your vision of how the world should be, and experimenting with that power. Speak up! Don't let others shape your world. Some things are beyond our control, but as a mass collective, we're only just starting to understand the power of visioning, intentions and 'holding' light for the planet.

There's some momentum for explosive revelations and events that change the whole world. The New World Order thing is speeding forward with its plans, with the financial collapse being part of what David Icke calls, problem, reaction, solution. The man behind the curtain is being exposed, and a reckoning appears possible on a few fronts. Alarmed Americans see the real price of the "solution" being offered by the banking cartel (the Federal Reserve). What the Libra stellium offers is the cardinal motivation to See other paths, and the moral courage to act on them. Mars in Libra can inspire the kind of righteous anger that this Ohio Congresswoman showed on the floor recently over the proposed bailout.

I've often wondered if I would be brave in the face of brutality, if it ever came to that. In history, there are examples like Sophie Scholl of the White Rose student group, who spoke out against fascism, and gave her life for it. Her famous last words were, "The Sun Still Shines," and she also wrote of seeing beauty despite the horrors around. Just because so many things are in conflict does not mean that we ourselves should be divided. Each of us has choices of how to react when chaos takes hold. It's time for a crash course in advanced spiritual evolution! To face the end of time, and become aware of ourselves as timeless beings that live on no matter what. With time speeding up, there's step-by-step support for each person that takes up the call.

The Libra influence and the fated aspect of Mercury's retrograde can raise the volume on synchronicity. Being able to follow signs, events, ideas that drop into your mind with a special charge...it's like little rocks on an illuminated path that seems to have its own logic in the midst of chaos. Quiet your mind, and try to still the fear, and see what kinds of messages you get about whatever is going on. Issues of survival are coming up big time, and will likely throw a lot of people into a chaotic mental state. Tune into that higher spiritual clarity, and keep the faith that you're where you need to be. Is reality fixed, or is it something we are creating with our visions? That is the great experiment that turns each of us into a shaman, aware that we exist in more than one level of reality.

The planets and its processes are moving into the foreground, as the Earth makes her presence known in bigger ways. Do what you can to be in nature and take actions that repair the broken bridge to Mother Nature. It's time for all of us to make an evolutionary leap, to be eco-daredevils. Jupiter is standing by in Capricorn, to help us draw on the past traditions of self-reliance, with solutions that will be sustainable.

As Uranus (Pisces) moves into opposition to Saturn (Virgo), tensions will rise, and we're likely to see some extreme behavior. The collective emotional waves will be intense, exciting, agitating, shocking, freaky and chaotic. It's time to pull out all your magic tricks that keep you emotionally balanced -- long soaks, walks in nature, definitely more sex!, excercise, etc. The outbursts of Uranus can be breakthroughs. But Saturn's discipline keeps you grounded by staying as healthy as possible, mentally, spiritually and physically.
