When the full moon peaks, it's a time to come home to the power of imagination that can shape your life. The outstanding aspect here is to Neptune, the planet of imagination and higher callings.

The Scorpio moon peaks at 2 degrees in an enthralling trine to Neptune (in Pisces). It's a time of being spellbound or for breaking spells. Hypnotic seductions vie for our attention, and a power wants to keep humanity in a state of fear. It's also a pairing to move beyond needless nightmares and be captain of your own ship. The full moon illuminates holds on the psyche and opportunities to dissolve them.

The Sun (Taurus) is shining in opposition, vitalizing what's in sync with natural laws. The spirit of dramatic endings and beginnings is afoot. Neptune's presence inspires going beyond the known and being open to miracles.

Planets in Retrograde

The full moon returns to Scorpio on May 18, 2019. Three planets are in retrograde about this time: Jupiter (Aug. 10), Saturn (April 30), and Pluto (April 24). These points support recapturing the imagination and power to imagine your life:

  • Jupiter in Virgo: Relearning to trust your body and its signals, being resourceful, and doing what's wholesome and purifying.
  • Saturn in Sagittarius: Restoring faith in the path, beyond hopelessness and with synchronicity as a guide.
  • Pluto in Capricorn: Re-rooting in what's enduring, timeless, and in harmony with nature.

During this period we can build on solid psychic-emotional ground. If the picture darkens, stay with it. Disillusionment comes sometimes with Neptune, but that's just the start. Look where Neptune is transiting your houses for themes of "where your karma is coming back to you," as astrologer and author Marguerite Manning said. We can discover strength we didn't know we had.

The Bare Bones

Full moons are revelatory. Scorpio sees into the hidden bones. If you're wrestling with an issue, ask for clear messages for transforming it. Earth energies show us how to be resourceful and prioritize. This might take extreme measures, but stripping away needless drama fortifies us for what's ahead.

Scorpio's psychic-emotional power is feared and respected. Releasing something can feel daunting, but the rewards are big. This full moon is a sign of healing in the Plutonian sense: facing demons, walking through fear, and embracing experience.

Grounded Mysticism

The Scorpio-Taurus axis is about merging with Earth or with a lover. At the big reveal of the full moon, you'll see what you're enmeshed in. Is it healthy or toxic? Can the negativity be transformed, or is it time to make a clean break? This full moon emphasizes the psychic subterranean roots and those that come from being parked in one spot. It's timely for purging the excess and what takes you off your center.

It's important to note that Taurus and Scorpio are fixed signs that seek security. Instead of checking out, we gain soul power by withstanding and being creative in the face of adversity. True confidence emerges when there's nothing to fear, within or without.
