Since Susan Miller and I talked this morning (October 5th), I went back to articles from the time she cited as one of "harsh realizations" on September 17th. I wanted to see if there were below-the-radar stirrings that met her prediction. It makes sense, with Mercury in Retrograde AND square to Pluto (secret power) that day, that the revelations may have been kept hidden from the public. And yes, I did see quite a few ominous signs that had to do with the US dollar.
It may come as a shock, if you’re listening only to mainstream media. But Asia-based economists like the Market Oracle started reporting urgently that week on the dollars lose of respect (Capricorn). From Singapore and across Asia, there was news of the exchange vendors not taking $100 dollar bills points to a loss of perceived value of the currency. This expert says we have to quickly learn to live within our means.
Other “tell it like it is” financial experts have been raising the red flags. That week, economists like Larry Edelson warned of the Sudden Death of the Dollar! He sees governments like China divesting of the dollar, and a call to replace it as the world currency reserve. In a nod to Mercury square Pluto, Edelson wrote that there’s a debt solution being worked out that be an attempt by nation’s to get out from under paralyzing debt loads, by re-valuing the dollar against gold. Says Edelson, “The world leaders and central bankers who discuss it now speak only in whispers; behind closed doors.” So my lay person’s take on it, is that the re-balancing of the US Dollar could be a harsh realization, that leaves us with even less to live on.
Facing RealityLast July, I wrote a post about US Congressman Ron Paul's warning that Something Big is Happening that would affect the entire global system. And since then, there have been so many astonishing signs that something big and even ominous is happening. You'd have to be in denial not to see that the public funds have been gravely misused. Mercury square Pluto is an aspect that may reinforce denial, as we become afraid to see the truth.
I've been thinking about Mercury opposite to Pluto in the US chart, and how this does make Americans susceptible to false propaganda and denial. Mercury is in Cancer, which makes us as a nation vulnerable to emotional manipulation, especially fear and fears about security. This Mercury also sees life through an emotional lens, and is very attached to its beliefs. Many Americans can't accept that there's a huge wealth and resource grab underway. Sometimes Pluto presents us with abuse that upsets our worldview, and that we feel we have no control over. It will take time for "the People" to find their power and voice, in order to stop this from continuing.
Coming to terms with what's happened to us involves having the courage to face the abusers of the public trust. In the meantime, we can each of us prepare as best we can by being self-sufficient, banding together in family/friend groups, and weaving support in the community. It's wise to stock up on canned goods, things that would make useful barter items, and must-haves like medicines, matches, light bulbs, batteries and so on. Try to plan or the contingency that "digital" forms of money may not always be available. This might mean carrying extra cash, or being creative about bartering with neighbors, friends, etc.
This is not fear mongering. That's what we've been subjected to for the last some odd years. It's time to overcome our fear and inertia and take practical steps to lessen the impact of what's coming. As my dear friend Elizabeth Jones of Star Pathways said in an email today, "we were made for these times." This is our chance to be strong and resourceful. And we can do it when we come together.
