Leo and Sagittarius Love Compatibility

Leo and Sagittarius are hugely animated and charismatic signs. Both are fire signs with instincts that life is an adventure, and that includes romantic ones.

Dating involves play and possibly travel, creative collaboration or partying (and loving) to dawn. They are high vitality signs, though Leo has outbursts, and Sagittarius has rare endurance.

Sagittarius draws Leo outdoors and soon both are glowing with fresh fire in the cheeks. Falling in love makes them feel even more alive. The athletic Sadge stirs the lion out of laziness, and into the game of pleasure.

  • Leo in Love is loyal and demanding and crushed by infidelity.
  • Sagittarius in Love is frank, playful and often restless for a variety of experiences.

Quality Time

Yes, they're both fire signs, but a big difference here is in quality (fixed-Leo and mutable-Sagittarius). Leo is here to love with their whole heart and comes alive with eyes riveted on their radiance. Sagittarius is just as ardent but has an in-motion nature that keeps them tantalizingly out-of-reach.

Look to other factors in the birth chart for harmonies. Working with this difference in quality, Leo shows Sagittarius how to put sustained effort into one area, and bring it to fruition. Sagittarius keeps the Lion inspired, and exploring the new and exotically far away.

The One? Or One of Many?

Trouble begins if Leo suspects that the Archer is an equal opportunity lover. Leo has to feel special, or the Lion starts to lash out.

It suits Leo's proud nature to be a whole lotta woman or man―enough to satisfy every need or desire. A Sagittarius that's restless to experiment makes Leo see red. It's important to know what the other is really looking for, and general love philosophy. This will depend a lot on where each is, in the game of life.

Sagittarius is more easy-going than Leo, with commitment. Usually, the Archer will be upfront about their intentions, but Leo might not want to take them at their word.

If triggered, Leo's jealousy is a bad fit with the Sagittarian's pursuit of varied experience in love. Their fires burn differently—Leo is ignited by concentrated attention, and the Archer's sparks cover a lot of ground, in an ever-widening fire zone.

In a relationship, both are social, but Sagittarius travels wider and farther. Sadge needs to keep moving and feel free to follow life's lead. If Leo feels lonely and unappreciated by the busy Archer, trouble ensues. Would it help to have a standing 'date night?'

The legendary Sagittarian need for unrestricted freedom conflicts with Leo's desire to be swept up in an absorbing romance. Sadge can be a loving partner but often can't demonstrate the total devotion in the way Leo wants. The regal Leo wants to know Sagittarius is loyal to the kingdom. But the Archer is loyal to his or her own unfolding path, above all else.

A player Sagittarius with the prideful Leo is a recipe for disaster. It works when a commitment is in place that both value and the bond is kept fresh through shared experiences. When Leo trusts that Sadge will return, the bond deepens through the many comings and goings. Kids, holidays, animals, friends, parties —the Leo-Sadge household is vibrantly colorful. As long as they keep laughing, and work through their differences, this pair has a good run.

  • Leo and Sagittarius Upside: spirited lovers; ecstatic play in the bedroom; spontaneous; can take the heat; very expressive; honest; fiery libido.
  • Leo and Sagittarius Downside: different tempos (quality); loyalty vs. loyal to life; straying; reckless with passions.

Overwhelmed by Feelings (a Leo and Sagittarius Love Story)

I was young and completely crazy about him. No one else has affected me like that. We reconnected recently after many years. Undeniable passion. That's all I can say.
