Jupiter and Trusting Life
Everyone I know is deeply concerned about the future -- some about issues of basic survival. And that's despite the trailings of the just go shopping fix-all and the absurdly upbeat assessments of wars and the economy. The noisy soundtrack that intrudes into our lives. But people are waking up and receptive to new ideas, in a way that suggests something is really happening to the vibration of the planets. Just as systems seem to be breaking down, we are more open to evolving on every level -- mentally, physically and spiritually. More than ever, we need the light of Jupiter to show us where our gifts are, and the best way to find faith in a dark, uncertain time.
Looking at Jupiter in the chart, gives insights into the path of inspiration, how you're led to your destiny. And unlocking your natural talents often leads to abundance, as in Joseph Campbell's "Follow your bliss..." (...and the money will follow.") But stepping back, it's also about shining your light at this moment in history, what author Naomi Wolf calls, "all hands on deck time." What gifts do you have to offer, when choices are being made between Love and Fear. Jupiter will open doors if you move toward its lessons of growth. That means tuning into that inner voice within calling you to show up for life. Following those little and big bright spots of inspiration on the path gives us the courage to go against the tide, and be given grace under the pressure that results. Jupiter helps us believe that there's a path unfolding even in times of zero visibility because of uncertainty.
By listening to spirit, and expanding your sense of who you are, you gain faith that you're on the right path. It reminds me of Sunday School when I was a kid, singing about hiding your light under a buschel. "No!," we all shouted, "I'm gonna let it shine!" To overcome this eclipsing darkness, we all have to shine our light as big and as brightly as we can.
Here's that inspiring quote from Marianne Williamson, one that Jupiter could have easily conveyed himself. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Yes, yes and yes. It’s time to wake up, excellent sentiments. I gave way to Jupiter a while back, I’m still here; lilies of the field and all that.
where is your Jupiter? Mine is in Leo in the 6th. I love parties, holidays and seem to have luck in finding jobs that are fun. And have done jobs just for the adventure of it, like driving a horse-carriage, being a baker in a cafe, lifeguard, walking tour guide. I also have a knack for finding work for friends. I love drama and the pageantry of theatre, romance, kids, animals, balloons, art, big personalities, cocky people, sexy animals like lions, bright colors.
my jupiter is in aquarius, and the 2th house, and my motivations comes from myself, and i really enjoy spending more time with friends than with my family, funny is that i am sun/moon/cancer/7th house in cancer
Maybe with friends there’s less emotional intensity, making it easier to feel free to grow in any which way, following an inner call. Being totally free of family labels, original apart from your family’s dynamic.
Jupiter is my chart ruler (Sag Ascendant) and in my 9th house (Jupiter’s own house). In Virgo and conjunct my midheaven, I always read that Virgo is not a good placement for Jupiter because it suppresses the larger than life qualities of the sign. However I love having it is Virgo because for me I have the ability to think both big (Jupiter) and then small and detail oriented (Virgo). So I have the best of both worlds! Lol!
My husband has Jupiter in Virgo, and there’s a earth shaman vibe there, being able to flexibly shift the details to a higher end result. He’s a musician, and has been able to ‘trust’ the process of discipined day to day creating, without thinking too much about the glory or getting approval for it.
He also finds it almost a high to clean out the car (a 2 hr process) or do a weekly big clean of the place. That’s lucky for me, though I try to pitch in and not take advantage!
There is a lot out there about 2012. It is a good idea to consider all sources and figure out which ideology works best for each of us. I would like to add, as much as I like what Marianne Williamson writes, I believe that the former South African president, Nelson Mandela, was the creator of the quote you attributed to Williamson. If I remember correctly, he penned this while he was in prison on Robbins Isle off the coast of South Africa. Mandela was a political prisoner for much of his adult life and wrote prolifically during his incarceration.
Blessings!!!!!!
I absolutely agree with you Polly abut 2012, and am sure part of it, too, is that each person finds their own way.
Re: that quote…I was unsure myself because I’ve seen it with Nelson and with Marianne, and both — here is a source you can trust, nelsonmandela.org that attributes it to Marianne.

Molly, Thanks for the info on the quote. I did check it out and am glad to know who actually created such lovely and profound thoughts as are portrayed in this quote.
Blessings to you!
Hi Polly —
She has a way with words, and I didn’t realize until recently, that she’s a Cancer. I had her pegged as a Sadge. I saw her in person once and she is very illuminated, while coming across as humble. that’s a nice mix in a spiritual leader. If we consider what her presence represents, as a woman in that role, it really is a quantum leap. Maybe that’s why subconsciously so many need to link that to NM, a wise male. But she’s the one. My favorite of her books is A Woman’s Worth and her book about the Soul of America.
