The Search for Roots
At a party this weekend, I ran into a twentysomething acquaintance of mine, on the verge of a leap of faith, back to her roots. She's "found herself" apart from the tribe, and ready to take a chance on home back in Kentucky. If this is a true trend, it could be Jupiter in Capricorn's way of luring some of us back to family traditions. Or, to the landscapes that we know intimately. Many are sensing that things could get tough in the future, and we'll need to rely on each other as never before. It's time to draw essential practical wisdom from the family line, like how to grow and make stuff for daily life.
If you think about it, the ancestral lineage of this life, is just one thread. But it could be a doorway to finding roots in the Earth again. Trying to find a Sense of Place before "The Great Purification," as described by Brave Buffalo of the Brule Sioux Nation. He wrote in 1985, "The Sacred Hoop shows how all things go in a circle. The old becomes the new, the new becomes the old. Everything repeats. White people have no culture. Culture is having roots in the earth. People without culture don't exist very long, because Nature is God. Without a connection to nature, the people drift, grow negative, destroy themselves. In the beginning we had one mind, and it was positive, a thing of beauty, seeing beauty everywhere."
This weekend, I was absorbed in research about 2012, and struck by an interview with Dr. Chet Snow, who has done both past life regressions, and future life progressions. If you accept the idea of reincarnation, then what we think of as our roots weave back into every corner of the Earth. What we're heading toward with 2012, he says, is the waking up of the Earth herself, and as part of the landscape, our own memories of walking in other shoes, in other lands and times. Our culture is hellbent on denying age, when Jupiter wants us to realize we're ancient. It's in our DNA, through which we can access wisdom of the ages as this waking up happens. The rewards of Jupiter come from finding those roots and enduring connections. And since we're ancient, the good news is that we can find Home wherever we are.

i always find myself saying that i am universal. i am used to travel the world a lot, since i was 9, i know people from all over the world, i am 23 years old, i know my generation will call for the modification, the transformation, i have scorpio at 1 degree in Pluto, and my dreams (capricorn 1 degree neptuno, that means, sag/cap) seems do touchyble, so real, emotional real, that sometimes i wake up thinking about what i was just dreaming, a i have lots of dream of a large group of people, asking for what they want, nothing else.
i hate the ideia of coming back home, i have no problem with my family, not at all, i am a cancer (sun/moon/mars/7house), but aries in the 4house, and a capri. rising. so this jupter in cap. is not for me, at least now.
we can feel the diference of being trusted and trusing others, we can see a knife on your back once you step back in a relashionship, i have uranus in the 11 house, i am the proof of cutting friendship to an end without any mercy, but then, i know how is to be revanged because of it. i dont even trust myself, i know i can be hard to me, and push me away… i trust what i can do, and my family, nothing else. i wish i could trust every good people i meet during this life, we are what we were waiting for, but we are not being what we expected.
i have known lots of cultures around the world, i like each one of them, partial or full, thats why i call myself, universal.
Hi Rafael,
“we are what we were waiting for, but we are not being what we expected.”
that made me smile…are we falling short? I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on that. How can we all do better. I have a few of my own ideas, one I’m working on personally which is to protect my mind-body-spirit from the onslaught of ESmog.
I know what you mean when you say you are universal. I came home to Georgia after living elsewhere, but had always felt in exile from my landscape. Even so, I find kindred spirits wherever I go. I know it’s not everybody’s destiny to return home literally. I always felt that pull. But if you think we’re infinite beings, that have lived among all the different peoples, then at the depth of those roots, we’re entangled and share an ancient history.
Hi Molly!
i am not a superficial person, i have gemini in venus and the 6house (and chiron too), i try to calculate everything at the finest details, specially my 9house in virgo, i try to look the most realistic point of view before getting my thinking go deeper. i am intersted in behaviors, how people react when they are have to face reality, and the sense of identidy that we are loosing nowadays, we are in a peculiar moment of our earth, universe history, that we dont have waste time, we have to apreciate what it have shown to us, and use this knowledge that our world had been waiting for a long time. i know its not simple, astrology explains our complex behavior in a simplier way, isnt that right molly? and astrology is a promisse to be the aquarius (era/age) new religious “trend”, beacouse people can see that we are all a reflex of our universe, we are the ones who carry our universe energy, and people are seeing this more realisticaly, like when i was 10,11,12,13… teachers say: “Science is the effort to discover, and increase human understanding of how the physical world works.”, but they forgot to tell me, that what is not tangible, what we can feel, is real too !
so about that prashe, i really think the world is loosing a sense of identity, people no longer know where they belong, their sexuality, their family, their friends, dont know who to trust, thats why we are what we were waiting for, we have all the world history in our hands. Its obivius we need a reconnection, what is GOOD for us, and what we KNOW what is good for us, without loosing the respect, ethic and moral, because we know how much these are essencial in our daily-lives with some many stranges on the next block.
lets hope, this jup/cap makes a REAL ajudstment. and when you say that jup/cap says: “show me the “money”, you mean it !
but, i have so many thoughts, that i have to organize them careafully, to undersant every step of the whole concept that i can make it up, of course, based on reality, my favorite word.
sorry my english, i have to practice, and i have mercury in leo, i cant stop writing.
Hi Rafael,
I like to think of Astrology as a frame or skeleton to the hologram of the Self. what we know about the energies can be a jumping off point for each person to understand those universal energies, and what they’re made of. And it can be superficial or complex, depending on how deep you go into it. I agree that there is no time to waste. That it’s good to be flexible, and ready to let go of what we think is ‘reality’ and be open to changes in how we perceive things, and who we think we are. Cause we’re transitioning to a time when we’ll be more aware of ourselves as infinite beings, rather than locked into these different labels of culture, family, history. That’s the paradox of the holding the knowledge of the particular life you’re in, and the astro energies, but being aware of that being just one expression of who you are.
you have a wonderful writing Molly ! i am always here reading your thoughts !
yestarday, i was looking at the sky, and thinking something like, “looking at the sky, day and night, and open your eyes, is there, specially the sun and the moon, the evident form of energy, is right up there in front of our ancient eyes”…
i am reading this astrology book, and its incrediable how you astrologers describe about the 2012, sometimes i think it is so evident, but then, i think not, like you put up there, “The old becomes the new, the new becomes the old. Everything repeats.”
do u think this labels you talked about, are they our new “jesus”? or i am losing the point here? i am not religious at all, but i am tolerant, because i think every generation, religion, culture have something to offer, to learn from, but are our history, the whole concept of what history is all about, family, culture about to transform everything we hold on wait nowadays?
Have a peaceful Libra moon !
Ancient Eyes — I really like that. My understanding of what is happening in this doorway period of 2012 changes all the time. I sense and have read/heard that it will Be what people create from it. Like if you are Christian, it will be your rapture, and you’ll ascend. If you saw that movie ‘What Dreams May Come’ with Robin Williams, that resonates with me, about how …when there is no time anymore …a la The End of Time….what we think becomes our instant reality.
But my aussie friend, who is wise not to claim any mantle of knowing says simply, it’s a time to Be in the Heart. And that’s what I’ve heard so many guides of the ancient wisdom say. If you’re not ready for an influx of energies, it could be overwhelming. At the same time, someone could open, and in an instant, evolve much more quickly than someone with a lot of intellectual baggage that keeps them from experiencing it directly. It’s always good to come back to the heart, and that’s what I”m trying to do, along with work on keeping my immune system and mind as healthy as possible.
