Emergency Gardening
There's some auspicious astrological harmony right now, which the wizard Gandalf might call, "the deep breath before the plunge." It's a lucky line-up of the Sun, Saturn and Jupiter, and it gives us a chance to get our bearings through mid-month. It's a window of calm, time to prepare for what everyone is sensing will be a freaky Fall with possible surprises. Literal and symbolic tsunamis are forming, with a sense of real change in the air, that won't necessarily be bad. In Virgo and Capricorn (Jupiter), these planets lend grounding, but are also formidable earth movers that can help you cultivate your Plan B. In her Virgo New Moon report, Barbara Hand Clow writes that it's a time to take care of practical matters, before the coming 'unspeakable tensions' of the Saturn-Uranus opposition. (here's an excerpt)
I'd like to finish with a few words, mostly for Americans, about Saturn's opposition to Uranus on November 4, since you may lose your mind unless you prepare yourself for this great shift now. The basic idea is that you must realize that who you are as an individual and your participation in your own communities is your most important and influential reality. You must master your own frequencies during this wonderful harmonic in September, since the astrological field on November 4 is going to be chaotic and potentially extremely destructive.
The Sun and Saturn are together in Virgo through the 11th. You've got the patience to resolve the problems that make your stance feel wobbly. Kick that addiction, do some clearing out of bad influences, find a spot in nature to remember your animal Self, and place in the web of Life. Our local Farmer's Market had a demo yesterday with the urgent title, "How to Grow an Emergency Garden" and that sums up this moment. It's not alarmist, just commonsense when so much is in upheaval. Root yourself in some fertile ground, and see what resources you've got. Add the trine to Jupiter in Capricorn, and you're able to take leaps of faith toward a foundation that is built around the essentials. No quick fixes will do with these realists, and workable solutions may need to come from innovations and collective creativity. By reigning in your focus to your sense of purpose, the tangibles, your community, your natural resources, you'll be better prepared to weather the storm.
