September 11th and the Broken Heart
September 11th was among other things, a story of the fiercest kind of love. There were the urgent exchanges of love before the End. All around the globe, people gathered for spontaneous memorials with flowers and candles. As I shared in my own September 11th story, I lived in downtown Manhattan, which was shocked into a sacred state, drawn together to hold candles and just be...in silence.
It was both terrible and otherwordly, when the missing souls walked the Earth and the living were knocked into another dimension. Compassion went beyond platitudes, because it emerged urgently from the soul, and a common sense of injury to humanity. There was an experience of Oneness that I've never felt before, and it radiated out from New York City to the world. The enduring love of September 11th is what motivates a parent or spouse to Press for Truth, against the calculated and relentless cover-up. And that moment that the world heart opened, is something I can't forget. I believe that honoring it, in a soulful way, is a path to healing. September 11th has been used as a political tool, and to shape consciousness toward creating more darkness. But the original story was a message of love and our common humanity.
This week marks the seventh anniversary, and on that day (Thursday), there's a Mars-Venus conjunction in Libra, the sign of justice, balancing actions, the healing balm of love. The warrior Mars, when in this air sign, uses words and ideas as his sword, and has been known to act decisively on what he believes in. Together with Venus, it could inspire some miracles, in the form of spontaneous memorials. As Pluto stations direct, there could be an explosion of truth telling now through November. The Mars-Venus conjunction sets the stage for an anniversary that illuminates the story from new angles. It creates a social buzz, an ease of conversation that frees people to say what's on their minds. We have yet to see justice (Libra) done, or even a true account of the events that unfolded. But in the end, that ferocious love will outlast any illusions, and eventually save the day.
