Being Taurus

Saturday November 8, 2008

When I was out walking with my stubbornly slow bulldog Lulu, it felt like the perfect rhythm to think about the full Moon in Taurus (November 13th). If I try to rush her, she stops and the collar slips over her head. She looks at me with old-soul eyes, weary with my impatience. So, I have to surrender to walking in slo mo, and end up seeing and experiencing things more in-depth. I end up seeing things like the moth hummingbird. The leash anchors me to my greatest teacher...one that stops to smell everything. I've always thought she might be a Taurus.

For me, Taurus is the North Node, so it points to what I'm moving toward in this lifetime. Like a long path seen across lifetimes, the South and North node show where you've been, and where you're going. I'm sure I've had many lifetimes, with that South Node Scorpio, studying the occult (hidden) arts. Maybe I was a witch. And like other women of the ancient ways, have returned at this crucial time of reclaiming feminine wisdom. I sense that this life is about taking that "inheritance," as one of my astrologer friend's calls the South Node, and turning it into something artful or practical. It's also about learning to relax, and stop being such a restless soul. To inhabit one place, and know it intimately, making the most of what it has to offer.

Thinking about where Taurus falls in your own chart can give you a point of focus, for this full Moon. You might brainstorm ways to cultivate the potential of a planet or chart point in Taurus. Full Moons are a time when seeds planted at the new Moon start to bear fruit. It's also favorable to vision, since intuition is so strong, and sometimes to take action. The lunar mood of Taurus brings those energies of settledness, sensuality, patience & steady movements. You get to experience your inner Taurus. Being aware of what's there to nurture within yourself, and using these days prior to ponder it, is one way to add personal meaning to the full Moon moment.
