Half Moon Time

Friday December 5, 2008

This is the point in the lunar cycle when all the good new Moon intentions fly out the window. We back away from what's hard and go back to the same old familiar patterns, and that can add to the irritable tension. The inner (Moon) conflicts with the outer (Sun), so making progress means change from the inside out. It's a time to push through that fear or just sit with the inner discord, so that it can be brought out and released.

Everybody I know is feeling unsure these days. The half Moon square can heighten that sense that something is off. The Sun (Sagittarius) and Moon (Pisces) are in mutable signs, waxing to a full Moon in Gemini. The jostling of this half Moon brings the Archer's gut instinct together with the intuition and emotional intelligence of Pisces. It's a good chance to hone those two ways of knowing for yourself, instead of trying to think your way through. Being able to trust your own perceptions is key to riding the chaos of our times, but the mutable signs show so clearly that it's a picture that's always changing.
