This morning I was musing on false bottoms and how earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo) have a reputation for being conservative. It's an instinct for conserving what's worth investing in, and not settling for what's flimsy, false, not quite right. A breakthrough now could resemble falling through to solid ground.
This is a Dark of the Moon for practical magic and daring to dig deeper into your authentic purpose. The art of surrender means letting go of what you sense is surface-y, and "going through the motions," for what's just a vague sense that there's something more.
CJ Wright of Auntie Moon asks, "Are you feeling the Taurus New Moon energy yet? Do you feel the urge to conserve something you already have or build something new that will stand the test of time? Tap into the bullish energy."
The Taurus New Moon is just after midnight (Pacific) tonight. Pluto retrograde (in cardinal Capricorn) symbolically detonates those secret places holding raw compressed intensity, and guides to buried treasure. Mars (in mutable Virgo) adds an impulse of being motivated by altruistic actions that serve the whole. This lunation is tailor-made for us earthlings to find our power, aligning with the Earth (on Earth Day).
I think we all know how critical things are with our Earth home, and many are rising to meet the moment. I see this New Moon as one for deeply committing to bringing forward natural talents, creative gifts or original impulses to act on ideals. In her newsletter, Melody Scott Zindell wrote, "In the secret Gospel According to Thomas, Jesus is quoted as saying: "If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."
This quote lingered with me, speaking to that deeper "something" that's waiting to be pulled out of the shadows. It reminds me of Pluto's charge, and urgent, yet dangerous-feeling pressure to transmute what's toxic, diseased, dead, corrupted. It's all compost now at the Taurus New Moon. On Moonless nights, the light of the soul comes through with messages. It's got me once again musing on what it means to "let go" of the known, for the promise of the unknown. Hope it's a meaningful one for all of you!Getty Images
