Jupiter Gemini & Divine Afflatus

A word for the day, to celebrate the gas giant Jupiter's entree into airy Gemini today. Afflatus, from its Latin origins, to breathe or blow on. The divine afflatus is described as an impelling mental force acting from within or divine communication of knowledge.

Jupiter is muse now for writers, journalists, media makers, educators, designers and performers. Look to the house where Gemini begins to see where an inspired wind doth blow through. Read more about Jupiter in Gemini to June 25th, 2013.

Meanwhile, Gemini's ruler Mercury is freestyling through water sign Cancer, starting the week with provoking tensions to both Uranus and Pluto. A swim coach we know always says, "Don't fight the water!" And that's good advice when feeling waves surge up out of nowhere. Mercury Cancer tends to see through the fog of feelings. This is my Mercury, and passing moods definitely determine how clear thinking I am!

The impulse with so much mercurial tension could be to go into fight mode, as things happen that set off emotional triggers. As I've been saying to myself today, 'This too shall pass....breathe into it.' When the mood is edgy, reacting can lead to saying things we later regret. On the other hand, a lot of truth can spill forth, when those dams break, leading to healing.

Jupiter and Mercury tease out the mind that's able to make-believe, spin yarns, laugh at the absurdity of it all. I must say, it's so muggy here, I could drink the air, so that's a match right there. Let's welcome Jupiter to a sign of lively, bright times with a goodly percent chance of laughter.
