Summer Solstice: "Your One Wild and Precious Life"

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your longest day? That's a take off on Mary Oliver who famously asks, "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" Hear her read The Summer Day and visit the reclusive Bard of Provincetown. She's a Virgo poet (September 10th) with Venus and Neptune also in this solitude loving earth sign.

Today is the first summer day, and the Sun goes into astrological water sign Cancer. So I've picked a Photo of the Week to get nostalgic about summer sensations -- like being spritzed on a hot day.

Now is the time for ripening of what was set in motion at Spring Equinox, going with the solar rhythm of seasonal intention setting. Friends in the Southern Hemisphere experience June solstice as the longest night, for soulful reflection on life's work and legacy.

I’ll be watching the sun reverse and traverse along its path and looking forward to some warm weather in its wake.

Every season has its particular joys – love the ‘warm,’ hot n’ humid is another matter…one in which finding escapes is an art. Told man we’d have to go to a matinee one day in August, just for the chilly a/c. Thanks for commenting this week.
