
This grove of live oaks called and I swerved off the two-lane state highway. My husband took this image of a rare unspoiled forest amid mostly rolling fields of just-harvested cotton. Some of these trees are surely over 200 years old. Each has its own unique character, the choices its made to reach this way or that -- tree spirits, dryads are definitely thriving here.
In that moment, the Earth pulse could be felt in a more direct way. I'd like more of that -- natural resonance -- in the coming year. We're traveling back now from the holidays -- safe travels to all of you on the road.
