Q & A with the Common Sense Psychic

By Molly Hall, About.com

Molly Hall: Your moniker, “The Common Sense Psychic” drew my attention. Right now (mid-February 2009), with transits, we’ve got major planets in earth signs -- Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Virgo. Earth signs deal with the practical realities, and structures of society. And this has astrologers making the parallel to what’s happening….big upheavals with the economy, reshuffling of resources, etc. What do you see with your clients these days?

Phyllis King: Many of my clients are in shock. So, I’m dealing with a lot of shock, and how do I get you out of shock, and into coping. And I’m saying, there’s nothing wrong with you because you got laid off. You’re not unskilled; you’re not untalented. We’re in a correction that needed to occur and we need to start re- framing our view of what’s happening.

Molly Hall: How do you describe what’s happening?

Phyllis King:Things are much slower; they’re not manifesting at same rate. It’s really an energetic correction that needed to happen. That’s my view and that’s what I’m trying to share. There’s an opportunity to find appreciation in smaller things in life. Think about family, neighbors, pets, look for ways to enjoy life as it is.

Molly Hall: What advice are you giving clients in crisis?

Phyllis King: I tell people to move way from the stress. Keep your energy in a productive place. Get away from the shock mode. I’m telling people they have to get creative in terms of how to make money. Say you’ve been in human resources and have been laid off. You might have to have two kinds of jobs. Move away from judgment. Be flexible and open to different ways of creating wealth or having stability come to us. For example, my business had gone down and I decided to open to new ideas about how to do readings. This led to doing group readings. And that’s been a huge hit for me. I never thought about that before. I’m saying maybe you can’t be in HR, but just do your own consulting….piece it together and let that be okay.

Molly Hall: With everything we’ve known falling apart, it does seem like an initiation for many into listening to their own intuition about how to deal with all this upheaval. Do you see that?

Phyllis King: I think it’s forcing that. If people don’t do that, those are the ones that are going to be injured. The correction mode is getting back to the basic tenants of prosperity, which is people first, money second. Back to what’s really important. If you don’t go that way, you’re going to continue to be bonked over the head. But I’m feeling that…more and more people are having intuitive experiences. People are trying to understand.

Molly Hall:What do you see happening with the economy?

Phyllis King: I don’t see it coming back. People are going to have to get on board. And the planet is contributing ….the planet is having a say so. I sense energy patterns into the future, one year to two years. This year, there’s a slow, thick pattern…..it’ll move, but very slowly. Last year was what I called the roto rooter year. There was constant upheaval. This year, it’s more methodical, thick; we’re gonna get through it….it’s not necessarily going to be easy though. Around September, everyone takes a breath. The people say, “I can breathe now.” They can see that what the Powers That Be are doing, is starting to work. The fear factor disappears a lot. I see the comfort level returning and confidence being restored around that time. With 2010 being back in the game and that stabilizes the markets as well. The pattern starts to flow…

Molly Hall:What's your take on the future, and what will happen in 2012?

Phyllis King:I don’t have a sense about it yet. I feel these patterns shifting in a big way. A lot of people are seeing ghosts, becoming highly intuitive, and there’s a phenomenon of time expanding, which I hear people talking about. It’s like a big wave of energy is coming over us on an intuitive level. But I don’t sense or feel a catastrophe.

Molly Hall: Any final words of advice to those struggling?

Phyllis King: I talk a lot to people about looking at this as a raging river. To stand up on the bank and not become part of it. A lot of people become part of it; they buy into the external. People can go crazy, crumble; it’s their whole identity wrapped up in that job, house or status. This is the time to re-evaluate how we’re looking at things, what is important in how we’re viewing our priorities. Spiritual bankruptcy is what created this economic mess. I had a client recently, and I counseled her about getting creative. She lost her job and is devastated and she’s seriously educated and got a severance package. I’m just saying you’re going to be ok; you might have to do something differently. It’s not the end of the world.
