The Full Moon is exact on Thursday, August 2nd, 2012, at 3:27 am London/UT, or shown here in the chart for Wednesday, August 1st at 11:27 pm Eastern US.Sparks Flying
The air is fine with the Full Moon in Aquarius, the sign of lightning and surprise inspiration. Give yourself the gift of breathing room, for a natural clearing. What moves with air? Incense, kites, wind chimes, prayer flags, crazy hair and trees -- what inspires you to go with the airy flow? See also Balance the Air element.
The Full Moon chart is mostly air and fire, even including the Moon's nodes. The fire element (Sun, Mercury, Uranus, N. Node Sagittarius) adds a certain frisson to the already curiously awake mind. See ideas to Balance the Fire. There's a restless urgency in the air. Inspiration and clarity are an empowering and unstoppable combo. The critical thing is being clear and true to your soul's goals.
This is a time for magic, as Dion Fortune defined it -- the art of "changing consciousness at will." And beyond visioning, the potent fire energies, together with an alert mindset, makes it ideal for active visioning. With an awakened outlook, comes a sense of timing. There's an art to holding the vision, until things shift, and you can close the gap between the real and the ideal.Heart Logic
The electric vibes of Aquarius, and general stimulation of the nervous system, can lead to manic states. With Aquarius, the instinct is to get your freq on -- bringing fast-moving frequencies down to earth, often to the shock of the status quo. It's very important to ground these energies, and get out of your head. Get out into nature to be in tune with organic buzzing, instead of the man-made humming that blocks out summer sounds.
There are some erratic energies afoot that are unwieldy and just need to do their thing. Having some physical outlets is wise, to keep the energies from getting stuck.
Let's use the ultra stimulating energies of the Full Moon to each further our own life's mission. This is a fabulous Full Moon to make radical changes that signal to yourself and the world that you're ready to hold more light.
There can be a period of being unsettled and in chaos, as the energies are integrated. That's the time to listen to what your spirit-body-mind needs in the moment, if possible. This can be a Full Moon to disrupt routines, and break out of well-trodden mental grooves, and make way for a new mindset.Drawing Down the Moon
In the Thoth Tarot deck, Aquarius is the Star card, and it depicts the star goddess Nuit drawing down cosmic energies to Earth. Aquarius is the Waterbearer that grabs hold of currents seemingly beyond this world -- definitely at the leading edge of the known. Like Nuit's flowing hair, each of us have antennae that can pick up cosmic inspiration, and get a charge of optimism from it.
So along with tuning in to high vibes on the physical plane, this Full Moon is for cosmic hits, a.k.a. divine inspiration. Be decisive about blocking low vibes. A friend of mine has huge 70s-style sunglasses she calls hate blockers. If you're sensing negativity in your scene, this is the time for an upgrade.Sun and Moon
The Full Moon brings sweeping shifts of consciousness. As an exercise, spend some time actually sweeping -- this is symbolically a way to clear the cobwebs of the mind. Get the air moving, let go of habits of thought that keep you in a stale loop. Now is the time for altered states -- originality, free thinking, even shades of genius.
There can be many external pressures, but here, it's a demand to remove inner barriers to full self-expression. It's very personal, since only you know the very unique plot and inklings you've had, signs from the universe. And yet, your story is part of the whole -- a grand design that Aquarius sees with startling clarity. Even if we're alone on a mountaintop -- and Aquarius has its loner side -- we could sense the bigger matrix of which we're a part.
It can be a boost to the sense of mission, and also make each of us feel like we're making a contribution. It's the fire of the passionate mind that's catching on. A vision can be firmed up at this Full Moon, bringing on confidence.
Since the Moon is Full in Aquarius, we meet the cheerleader Leo Sun across the way. It alerts us to that truism that a way to the universal is through the personal. By expressing proudly who we are, and exploring our talents, passions, loves -- we gift that to the whole.Courage to Look Beyond
In many ways, we're losing our bearings. We are letting go of the shore like the Hopi prophecy tells us, and must go on trust that the river has a destination. And being set adrift, we can find another kind of order in synchronicity, messages of guidance.
This Full Moon is like the preview of another way to live. Aquarius is the one plugged in to the cosmos, and at this lunar peak, we can too. Watch for strange, trippy, genius ideas, or random encounters with people that electrify your creative dreams.
What we call the universe -- the reality around us -- is always engaging with us, sending messages. We can get crystal clear impressions, about how to make the most of our unique shine (frequency). One suggestion, which I'll be doing, is to ask for vivid guidance (Sun's in Leo after all) -- in dreams, synchronicity and what pops in your head. Some Full Moon themes and suggestions:
