The chart for the new Moon in Aquarius opens up possibilities for great leaps...quantum leaps, leaps of faith, leaps into living your personal 'utopia.' It's clear that big changes are needed in our world, and Aquarius is a sign that delivers. Aquarius is a sign that seems to carry cosmic insider information....it lends the ability to transcend the frames of reality we have pre-set. It ventures beyond the known, sometimes into the Twilight Zone. And the secret is that to some extent, our limitations are what we set ourselves, with ideas about what is possible.
Aquarius is a sign know to draw from inner space and outer space to go beyond known limits. This new Moon, there's a power stellium of multiple planets in Aquarius -- the luminaries Sun and Moon, Neptune, Jupiter and the healer Chiron.
Aquarius is an air sign, but it's symbol is the Waterbearer. The Star card in the Tarot shows a feminine figure drawing down celestial energies and mixing them with the earth, and back again. The Waterbearer draws on a vast territory, but It's also fixed sign, suggesting the grid or matrix of beliefs that we use to define our reality. This new Moon, then, is a moment when the old matrix can be released, and a new one created. And we get to take a leap into the emerging new age, which Robert Phoenix calls appropriately the Now Age. We are in that critical transition, when the future is being created by what we do today.
When opening to these energies, try seeing yourself as a cosmic traveler. Sylvia Browne calls those from outer space, mystic travelers and in her prophecies says we'll meet them sooner than we think. This new Moon makes such evolutionary leaps possible, and we may see new technologies emerge at a speedy rate. The 'out there' and space agey becomes the norm, and might be applied to some of the real and dire earthbound problems that we face.
There's a Cherokee saying that "if it's not good for everyone, it's not good." The Aquarian traits of tending the social web, and seeing everyone as equal, are balanced with planets in earth signs (Saturn, Pluto, Mars-Mercury). We could see mind-boggling innovation emerge, that can help us clean the air, water and soil. In the film Timewave 2013, Daniel Pinchbeck envisions new technologies being used to meet the extinction crisis. The example he uses is to coax the Monarch Butterfly and the honeybees back, in areas where they still exist, using advanced technologies.
The new Moon is intensified by the annular Solar Eclipse that happens moments later. I can't predict for sure, but it may even feel tangibly like we are crossing a threshold. The sense of urgency, coming from the Earth herself, to adapt quickly, may come up on everyone's radar. That then gives each person a sense of purpose and power. The Mars-Mercury conjunction in earthwise Capricorn puts those visions in bold. Born at this time of transition, you may see practical ways to use your talents and resources.
Venus and Uranus are together in Pisces, and that re-sensitizes us to what we ourselves, our neighbors near and far, and all life on Earth is going through. The awareness of suffering need not drain your vital energy. It can be a source of motivation, to do your best, and get involved where you can make a difference.
The theme of balancing the dreamy ideal with sober realities is further made taut with the opposition of Uranus-Pisces to Saturn in Virgo. You may not be able to change the world today, but what small steps can you make that enhance life. Or make you feel healthier, more aligned with the natural cycles, more whole. The urgency of the moment makes us feel restless. Saturn says be patient, see what refinements you can make in your daily life. And tweaking the structure of things, so that it's a vehicle just right for the changing times.
This new Moon in the experimental sign of Aquarius invites you to see your life as an experiment. To try new things, break free of what limits you mentally, physically and spiritually. What mental grooves do you get stuck in? In what ways to you get derailed and stay trapped in an unhealthy matrix? This might be a good time to question the 'reality' that tv feeds us, especially if you're used to having it on all the time. Does the 'reality' of the talking heads still fit with your idea of the universe? If not, it might be time to liberate yourself. I did this back in the late 1990s and it was the hardest, but one of the most important thing I ever did.
The new Moon in Aquarius is an exciting one for intentions. It brings together energies that allow you to travel to far-flung places to bring back meaningful dreams. You might ask for stronger signs, and start to see obvious serendipity that seems to come 'out of the blue.' Aquarius is a sign of surprises and the unexpected, and if you ask, there's no telling what and how you'll receive. It fits that kinda overused, but true-for-the-moment saying, 'reach for the stars, but keep your feet on the ground.' And trust that you can find that balance....after all, you were 'made for this time.'
