Editor's Note: This article is by evolutionary astrologer Maurice Fernandez and posted here to inspire and encourage you through the coming changes. This is a follow-up to Time of Radical Change (Part I), with a stronger focus on the June-August 2010 period.
Evolutionary astrology looks at the chart as a guide to the soul's past lives and evolutionary lessons for this life.
Greetings everyone,I take this cyber pen today to further discuss the important astrology occurrences we are currently experiencing. I would like to particularly focus on what is happening the coming days and weeks, from June to August 2010. Some of you may have read previous notes myself and then other astrologers have written on these extremely intense configurations.
Looking back, it is clear that 2010 is what it was predicted to be -- particularly dramatic natural and socio-political events have taken place in the past 6 months or so and have affected the collective in significant ways -- from the Haiti earthquake to the Icelandic volcano drama (I won't try to spell that one), and now the devastating and seemingly unstoppable oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. On the socio-political front, the fragmentation of Greece's economy, and massive unrest in Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, and the Middle East among other turbulences reflect the fundamental unrest that is bubbling up.
As crises intensify, so does our search for solutions. Unfortunately, we tend to learn the hard way. But it is more palpable that because of ongoing emergencies, the general public is now more aware than ever before of earth concerns, corporate corruption, and on a personal level, of the need to adapt a healthier lifestyle -- crisis does stimulate awareness. We have now less choice because every wrong move has greater consequences, personally and collectively -- there is less room for mistakes and as a result, we are pressured to learn faster. On an astrological level, this pressure to align to higher standards because we face more immediate consequences related to the passage of Pluto into Capricorn.
THE LUNAR ECLIPSE -JUNE 26, 2010See Maurice's illustration of the June 2010 Eclipse Path.
We are now on the eve of a very dramatic lunar eclipse which will occur on Saturday June 26, around noon UT. The influence of the eclipse is of course already in the air, and will be at least 10 days beyond the actual event. The reason this eclipse is dramatic is because the Sun and Moon will be exactly aligned with Pluto, in the signs of Cancer (Sun) and Capricorn (Moon-Pluto). Along with that, the eclipse will also form a tight square to Jupiter and Uranus in the signs of Aries. Consequently, this eclipse has multiple mitigating factors adding their influence to an already strong event.
Anything can happen during eclipses -- it is literally a time for divine intervention and therefore unexpected and powerful occurrences can manifest, on both personal and collective levels. It is common to experience that things happen very fast and that the course of action is re-routed during such a time. Eclipses can bring solutions and amazing inspiration (downloads), as well as potential shake-ups. Because it is such a potent time, I strongly encourage focus on prayer, meditation, and setting intentions because gates open during this time. The flow of energy can be considerable and therefore destruction is definitely possible, but it can also bring completely new breakthroughs and manifest things that were long waited for from one moment to the next. What is worth remembering is that eclipses activate emotions powerfully, and so it is a time to mark intentions because it is through emotions that we register existence.
As 2010 is geared to be a year for transition, everyone is or will be on the move or adjusting to new circumstances. As I mentioned in the previous note, this is not a year to seek security in the material world because there is absolutely no stability -- security can either be found through physical motion and creativity or through spiritual connection. Form and thoughts are changing and we have to honor this process. Resistance to the need for transition can create setbacks. People tend to be more conservative when times are uncertain, but here the solution is actually in risking new ventures (consciously), rather than waiting for the wave to pass.
Because of such powerful currents, damage and crisis are practically inevitable, at least to some degree. Consequently, blame, anger, and fear are bound to recurrently emerge because they result from the need to foster change. However, if we have the luxury of reflection, we must realize that everyone is struggling the same and so engaging in blame-games only makes matters worse-it is really easy to become self-righteous. There is no question that if we want change, discrimination and judgment is in order, but along with that, we must understand that no one is spared of making mistakes or vice, and we can easily turn into the next popular villain in no time.
The level of agitation is high and with it frustration fuels anger-but instead of finding someone to serve as our punching bag, using this energy for action is more appropriate. I'm currently in Israel and I can tell you first hand that the temptation to get caught in the "bag guys, good guys" rhetoric is constant -- every side has the perfect arguments and feels completely justified -- the result is more suffering only.
